  • Patent number: 10206540
Abstract: A cutting board assembly with a rigid planar member, a circular segmented tray member, a plurality of supports, a plurality of non slip feet, a tray turning knob, a rotary bearing assembly and a food retaining curb. The planar member has an aperture matching the perimeter of one segment of the tray member. The tray turning knob is located at the center of the planer member. The rotary bearing assembly is mounted to the underside of the tray. The supports and non slip feet hold the rigid planar member up and prevent it from sliding during use. The food retaining curb is attached to either the left or right side of the rigid planar member, enabling a user to cut items and slide them into one of the tray segments and turn the tray so that a new segment of the tray is available for receiving additional cut items.

  • Patent number: 9428984
Abstract: This invention involves a method of securing pipe (also referred to as a “string of tools”) when driving off a subsea well or sealing off a well in onshore applications where there is an emergency by grabbing the pipe before it is cut. A pipe ram then is closed on the pipe before a shear ram is actuated to cut the pipe. In subsea applications, the top of the pipe may then be raised clear of the blowout preventer within a marine riser. A blind ram and annular preventer can then be closed above the remnant of the pipe being retained by the pipe catcher. The pipe above the cut is removed through the marine riser and the marine riser itself is then disconnected. The rig is then driven off the well. If the well is reactivated the steps are reversed but the well is safely secured before the blowout preventer components are opened. The pipe supported by the catcher is independently supported before the catcher is released and the pipe lifted through the riser.

  • Patent number: 5701791
Abstract: A workpiece being processed on a machine tool is moved by control devices to the tool head or work station of the machine mechanically or automatically. A stop defines an area around the work station from which the holding devices must be kept to prevent damage. As soon as a holding device reaches the limit of the danger zone around the tool head, it is switched into a setting releasing the workpiece and moves into a position away from the work station. The machine has a switching element connected to each holding device to be so movable, and the switching element has a switching slide which is acted on by an applied force and is supported in a first position until it abuts the stop when one slide position connects the energy source to the drive of the holding device to move it away from the stop. In another slide position, the connection to the energy source is broken and the holding device returns to the workpiece holding position.

Abstract: A slitting equipment, piercing various patterns of ventilation slits in thin material, comprising a frame, a main cylinder, auxiliary cylinders, and a plate with knives. Upon an electric impulse from a bag-making machine, to which the present slitting equipment is attached, the auxiliary pneumatic cylinders press and stretch the thin material when the main pneumatic cylinder activates a plate, to which is attached a multitude of cutting knives, up and down the vertical plane. The sharp knives pierce and cut the stretched, thin film in the designed pattern. When the knives have disengaged from the material, the auxiliary cylinders release the film, and the latter is free to move horizontally, while restricted vertically by the top and bottom supports of the machine. As a result of this procedure, ventilation openings have been created simultaneously with the sealing and shaping processes carried on by the bag-making machine, without producing any waste material.

The cutter includes a feed channel associated with transverse and longitudinal feed devices for the rod bundle. A cutter housing is arranged at the mouth of the channel. A cutter carriage can be moved at right angles to the feed channel and is provided with a cutter blade; a fixed counter-blade cooperates with this cutter blade; a rod bundle clamping mechanism is located ahead of the cutting plane and is provided with two alternately actuatable clamping jaws. The cutter carriages, the cutting blade, the counter-blade, and the two clamping jaws can be removed and replaced. The transporting, clamping, and cutting devices are respectively provided with their own drive unit.

  • Patent number: 4445410
Abstract: A method and apparatus for clamping a bar to be sheared, shearing the bar, and transmitting the shearing forces is disclosed. An infeed clamping assembly and moving shear blade assembly are retained within a housing formed from a plurality of retainer plates which are disposed between and connected to a pair of bolsters with keys inserted and interfitted into aligned key cavities in the retainer plates and bolsters. An infeed clamp assembly is provided with an infeed clamp adapted to be pivoted on a support block as the support block and clamp are moved against a bar to accommodate variation in bar cross section along the length of the bar. A rectangular cage having an interior guideway is provided to receive the portion of the bar to be sheared off. A backing clamp is carried by, and slidably movable within, the cage. The backing clamp is wedged against one side of the bar portion to be sheared off until the other side of the bar is engaged by a part of the cage.

  • Patent number: 4241630
Abstract: A cutting machine for subdividing material lengths comprises a roller table establishing a transport path along which the material is directed to a cutting zone. A cutting head assembly has a cutting blade for cutting material located at the cutting zone. A front vise assembly is fixed adjacent to the cutting zone with first and second jaws arranged in opposed mutually spaced relationship on opposite sides of the transport path. A first jaw operating mechanism is provided for adjusting the spacing of the first and second jaws between an open position permitting movement therebetween of the material and a closed position clamping the material therebetween. A rear vise assembly is mounted on a carriage underlying the roller table. The carriage is movable in opposite directions parallel to the transport path. The rear vise assembly has third and fourth jaws also arranged in opposed mutually spaced relationship on opposite sides of the transport path.
