  • Patent number: 12141365
Abstract: A gesture tracking system for detecting and measuring phalangeal joint movement of a finger. The system includes an attachment structure configured to couple to a finger and a sensor assembly coupled to the attachment structure. The sensor assembly includes more than one sensor. Each sensor is associated with exactly one phalangeal joint and includes a string potentiometer, a recoil spring, and an anchor point. The string potentiometer includes a string and a drum. The string has a first end, a second end, and a length therebetween. The first end of the string is disposed on the drum and the recoil spring is coupled to the drum. The second end of the string is coupled to the anchor point, which is disposed distal to the first end of the string. The length of the string indicates a linear position of the associated phalangeal joint.

  • Patent number: 12053902
Abstract: An articulated chop saw mast section (30) replaces a rigid prior art mast section (22) between a chop saw base (20) and a chop saw swing arm assembly (23?). The articulation of mast section (30) provides a front-to-rear longitudinal movement of the swing arm assembly (23?) along an axis that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of a chop saw cutting wheel (26), ultimately providing front-to-rear movement of the cutting wheel (26) along its longitudinal axis. The movement of wheel (26) in this fashion provides a means for optimum adjustment to the geometric relationship between wheel (26) and the material to be cut. The ability of the articulated mast to achieve optimum cutting geometry offers greater cutting efficiency by reducing the point or points of contact between wheel (26) and the material's specific profile.

  • Patent number: 8122802
Abstract: A power saw includes a saw assembly attached to a base assembly with an offset support that provides a clear path in line with the saw blade, thereby providing a miter saw, a table saw or a radial arm saw The height of the offset support is adjustable to make dado cuts, and a tilt mechanism is mounted at the top of the offset support to provide an “apparent” tilt axis near the top surface of the turntable, thereby eliminating an axle near the turntable top surface. A first fence used for miter cuts may be moved or removed during table cut operations. Alternatively, a reversible fence may be used for miter cuts when configured and affixed to the base assembly in a first position, and may be used for table or radial cuts when configured and affixed to the base assembly in a second position.

Abstract: Throat plates for table saws and table saws including the same are disclosed. In some embodiments, the throat plates and/or saws include at least one securement mechanism adapted to secure and prevent inadvertent removal of the throat plate from the throat of the saw. In some embodiments, at least one of the securement mechanisms also provides a height adjustment mechanism and/or prevents vertical removal of the throat plate. In some embodiments, the throat plate includes an accessory mounting port that provides a portal for accessories, including safety accessories, to extend through the plate from beneath the table of the saw. In some embodiments, the port extends from the plate's outer perimeter to divide the plate's rear end portion into a pair of spaced-apart members. In some embodiments, these members are independently secured to the table saw and retained apart from each other by one or more of the securement mechanisms.

Abstract: A saw assembly for a table saw includes a bracket, a driving unit swingingly connected with the bracket, a saw blade coupled to a driving shaft of the driving unit, which extends through an inclined guide slot of the bracket, an elevating unit mounted with the bracket and connected with the driving unit, and a shield pivotally mounted between the driving unit and the saw blade. When the driving unit is lifted or lowered by the actuation of the elevating unit, the saw blade can be moved upwards or downwards along the inclined guide slot of the bracket, and the shield can be rotated to keep the inclined slot of the bracket covered, thereby preventing a maintenance worker's hand from getting injured by the saw blade, and allowing the sawing chips of a workpiece to be collected effectively.
