An infill extractor/collector device mounted on a motorized vehicle moves a relatively narrow strip of filled artificial turf from the surface, in front of the vehicle, and directs the strip to an infill removal station. The infill removal station inverts the strip and redirects the strip back toward the front of the vehicle, after agitating the strip to extract the infill. After redirecting the strip toward the front of the vehicle, the vehicle drives over the unfilled strip. Meanwhile, the extractor/collector device moves the extracted infill rearwardly to a bag located in a trailer.

  • Patent number: 5967013
Abstract: A powered circular saw blade on a vertical shaft is supported on a slide which is slideably mounted on a guideway having feet to enable moving the assembly around on a building sub-floor. The feet are adjustable to enable raising or lowering the guideway base and, thereby, the saw blade. A blade guard is affixed to the guideway base and shaped to admit the saw assembly to an inside corner of a building room. The blade is normally retracted behind the blade guard but can be advanced to position ahead of the guard as the guard is braced against a door jamb or the like and the slide is pushed toward the door jamb to advance the blade into cutting position. Immediately upon release of the advancing force manually applied, a return spring returns the blade to retracted protected position.

  • Patent number: 5964136
Abstract: A trimming shears for sheets and strips having two shears frames arranged opposite one another and on supports and being rotatable about a central vertical axis. A pair of vertically stacked adjustable roll blades are mounted in each shears frame at diagonally opposite horizontal corners of the shears frames. The roll blade pairs are rotary driven by gears and couplings to cut the sheet or strip edges. The roll blade pairs are adjustable both vertically and horizontally to accommodate different material thicknesses and widths. The roll blade pairs are arranged in the shears frames such that when the shears frames rotate about the central vertical axis, the position of the roll blade pairs is transposed--with the first roll blade pair taking the position of the second roll blade pair.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for cutting sheet material upon an apertured support surface, the apparatus including a pair of spaced apart parallel cutters. The cutters are spaced apart by a distance greater than a dimension of the apertures, but less than an inter aperture distance so that at least one of the cutters remains in cutting contact with the support surface when the remaining cutter passes over an aperture. The method includes selectively overcutting and undercutting the line segments at an intersection to ensure continuity of cut paths of both cutters.

Abstract: A saw comprising a table, a support mounted on the table, a saw assembly including a blade journalled in the assembly and a motor to drive the blade, and a slot in the table through which the blade can be plunged, wherein the support defines a channel which receives a shaft carried by the saw assembly such that the saw assembly can slide relative to and over the support to extend the reach of the saw blade along the slot. By allowing the saw assembly to lie above the support, the weight of the saw assembly is transferred to the table through the support and the space occupied by the saw assembly and support can be reduced.

Abstract: Provided is an aircraft trimming device including a guide assembly (24) and a cutting tool (26). The guide assembly (24) includes a rigid plate (25) and a T-shaped track (30) mounted to one side of the plate to serve as a support and a guide for the cutting tool (26). The cutting tool (26) includes a base assembly (32); an air supply assembly (34) that is supported on the base assembly (32); and a cutting assembly (36) in pneumatic communication with the air supply assembly (34). During operation, the cutting tool (26) is pneumatically lifted by the air supply assembly (34) a slight distance off the track (30) in order that a mechanic may translate the cutting tool (26) along the track (30), thereby trimming an aircraft sub-assembly edge along a predetermined path (40).

  • Patent number: 5839340
Abstract: A machine for cutting a tube having a frame encompassing the tube on which supports are conducted and moveable in two vertically stacked axial directions on a plane running at a right angle to the tube longitudinal axis. At least two supports are driven exclusively in a single axial direction during the cutting process. A cutting head is mounted on each support, each cutting head having a disk milling cutter attached thereto. The disk milling cutters, which are rotary driven on a common cutting plane, simultaneously cut through the tube as the result of controlled movement of the supports in their axial directions. The disk milling cutters, moving in the same direction relative to the circumference of the tube, i.e. clockwise or counter-clockwise, simultaneously cut a section of the wall cross-sectional area of the tube. The machine also has clamping devices arranged in the vicinity of the disk milling cutters to secure the tube in place during the cutting process.

  • Patent number: 4925515
Abstract: A method for applying a protective tape on a wafer and cutting it out to the shape of the wafer in the process of manufacture of integrated circuits and the like, and an apparatus for use in carrying out the method. The method enables the protective tape to be applied on the wafer without allowing intersurface inclusion of air bubbles and to be accurately cut along the perimeter of the wafer. Any dimensional change with respect to the wafer can be properly coped with. The protective tape, as drawn out from a winder shaft, is applied by means of an application roller on the wafer which is supported and fixed in position on a transfer table. The tape is cut along an orientation flat of the wafer by a subcutter which is in movement integrally with the application roller. A main cutter positioned above the wafer is then lowered and caused to swivel, whereby the protective tape is cut along a circumferential edge of the wafer so that the tape on the wafer is cut out to the contour of the wafer.
