Abstract: A paper cutting machine is provided for cutting a plurality of sheets of paper stacked one upon another on a table, including a paper support (2) that moves down from above along longitudinal beams (19, 19) and a cutter (3) that moves up from below in an oblique direction. The paper support (2) has a rest (18) for receiving a cutting edge of the cutter. The rest (18) is moved in a predetermined pitch whenever the number of strokes of the cutter (3) reaches a predetermined number. Accordingly, even when the cutting edge of the cutter cuts into the rest and becomes deteriorated, the cutter need not be exchanged immediately, the life of the rest can be lengthened and the number of sheets cut before exchange is necessary can be drastically improved.
Abstract: A cutter of the present invention comprises a punching member having a punching edge and a receiving member for receiving the punching force of the punching member, the receiving member having a sandwich structure comprising two plate materials and an elastic body held therebetween. Therefore, the receiving member is capable of elastically holding the punching edge during punching.
Abstract: In an apparatus for punching out a part from a workpiece or blank, particularly for punching out a segment from a photograph, for the engagement of the workpiece a punching table is arranged under a punching plate which can be rotated away and lowered in direction x, a punching pattern being placed on the workpiece.
Abstract: There is provided an improvement in an apparatus for cutting a profile of a selected shape from a natural sheet material at a given location, which apparatus comprises a cutting platen having an upper generally flat cutting surface and a lower generally flat support surface. The platen is movable to the desired position relative to a cutter which moves along an axis downwardly against the cutting surface to cut the preselected shape from the natural material. In accordance with the improvement, there is provided a fixed anvil having a flat force reaction surface parallel to and facing the supporting surface of the platen so that the cutting action is against the anvil. The anvil can also form the structure for supporting the platen as it is moved into the cutting position.
Abstract: A new and improved cross-beam press includes a carriage which is mounted for movement along a cross-beam located rearwardly of the bed of the press. A movable press head is suspended from the carriage so as to be above the bed of the press. A control system controls the movement of the press head as the same travels toward and then away from the bed of the press. The control system includes means for adjusting the ultimate approach position of the press head with respect to the bed of the press. As a further feature, the bed of the press can be positioned in two different heightwise positions relative to the movable carriage.
