  • Publication number: 20140260871
Abstract: A fish chunking apparatus comprises a base assembly, a handle assembly, a plurality of blades, and a pressing assembly. The base assembly defines a discharge opening. The handle assembly is pivotally mounted to the base, while the blades are disposed across the base and define interstitial spaces. The pressing assembly has a first end connected to the handle assembly and a second end pivotally mounted to the base. A fish received on the blades is chunked into a plurality of sections upon pivotally manipulating the handle assembly such that the pressing assembly forces the fish against the blades until the pressing assembly is received in the interstitial spaces.

  • Patent number: 7895926
Abstract: In a process and apparatus for cutting a sheet material, one or more sheets of the material are placed over a die attached to a die board. A cutting pad is placed over the sheet material. Seals are placed around or between the die board and cutting pad to create an enclosure. A vacuum is created in the enclosure or between the die board and cutting pad so as to draw the die board and cutting pad together and compress the sheets of material. The resulting assembly is passed through a roller press to cut the sheets of material. A process or apparatus for mounting dies to a die board or stripping scrap from between dies and a quick release fastener are also described.

  • Patent number: 7603936
Abstract: A mechanism and method is provided for controllably loading multiple food loaves into the slicing station of a continuous slicing machine. The parallel loaves that are engaged by a common loaf feed drive or side-by-side, independent loaf feed drives are engaged by the loaf feed drive or drives simultaneously such that the interface or seam between a preceding loaf and a trailing loaf in different loaf feed paths are located substantially at the same location during slicing of two side-by-side loaf streams. A clamp device is provided that clamps multiple food loaves when loaded to move along the parallel food loaf paths together, wherein the clamp device can be released once the multiple food loaves are simultaneously engaged by the loaf feed drive.

  • Patent number: 7121310
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting wooden piles underwater and a method of use are disclosed. The apparatus has a frame and brace configured for engaging a pile. A pressure medium activated cutting device is connected to the frame and oriented at an angle such that a pile can be cut at a point below the bottom surface. The frame and brace are placed on opposite sides of the pile and connected to each other with a chain or cable. The apparatus has lines attached thereto and the other ends of the lines are attached to a boat or other flotation device. Using the disclosed apparatus to remove pilings causes significantly less turbidity than devices or methods currently available. Additionally, using the disclosed device also eliminates the need to decontaminate silt removed from the water using the currently available methods or devices.

  • Patent number: 5974932
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting running workpiece includes a cutter for cutting, while the workpiece is running, the workpiece continuously supplied to run in a direction, and a travel member secured to the cutter, movable along the workpiece in contact with the workpiece. Since the travel member movable along the workpiece in contact with the workpiece is secured to the cutter, the cutter can follow a workpiece which is straight, curving or curving with a changing curvature. The cutter can be supported to be two-dimensionally movable to cut the workpiece in any form.

  • Patent number: 5062336
Abstract: A hot shearing apparatus for shearing heated round or flat section bars of light metal in billets comprises a stationary shearing ring 8 and a movable shearing ring 11. Both shearing rings are divided into shell halves 21, 22 and 31, 32, respectively, and adapted to be spread crosswise in translatory sense. This facilitates the feeding of material and improves the cutting accuracy.

  • Patent number: 4866976
Abstract: An apparatus for removing tie bars from between the leads of a semiconductor device during the manufacture of said device comprises a punch guide having a plurality of guide slots and a die block aligned with and spaced from the punch guide so as to provide a space therebetween. The die block is provided with a plurality of die slots which are in axial alignment with the plurality of guide slots in the punch guide. A plurality of punches are axially aligned with the guide slots and the die slots. A transmission mechanism is provided for selectively moving the die block toward the punch guide and the plurality of punches toward the die block such that the punches pierce the space between the die block and punch guide for removing the tie bars from between the leads.

  • Patent number: 4846029
Abstract: A heated aluminum log which is to be sheared is inserted through a stationary die and a movable die. A clamp of the stationary die is then moved towards an axis of that die to clamp the log against a diametrically opposite portion of the internal surface of the stationary die. Opposite members of the stationary die are then moved towards each other in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the clamp, to limit expansion of the sheared log. The movable die is then moved to shear the log.
