  • Patent number: 7549361
Abstract: A vibration damping device is described that dampens vibration produced during the conversion of rotational motion into reciprocal motion. The damping is performed using a simple structure wherein first and second conversion mechanisms are symmetrically arranged with respect to a plane of symmetry, first and second rotating shafts rotate opposite to each other at a constant speed, and the rotational motion is converted into reciprocal motion. The total of mass acting on gravity centers of a first balancer and a second balancer is approximately equal to the total of mass reciprocally driven by a first driving shaft and a second driving shaft. Both gravity centers are positioned 180 degrees to the first driving shaft and second driving shaft across the axes of the first rotating shaft and second rotating shaft. As a consequence, the forces in the direction of an axis can be balanced suppressing vibration.

The gear drive system consists of a drive shaft 330, a slip clutch 401, a clutch gear 116, a drive gear 110, and a staggered gear 112 which controls the paper cutter blade 106. During printing, clutch 401 allows the drive shaft 330 shaft to slip relative to the clutch gear 116. The device comprises an operating handle pivotally mounted on the housing carrying drive pinions engageable with the racks, so that by movement of the handle, the punch body may be raised and lowered. The punch body additionally carries auxiliary punch members, each being mounted on the punch body for longitudinal sliding movement relative thereto.

  • Patent number: 5630347
Abstract: The device includes dispensing units, each of which features a pair of counter-rotating rollers, between which there is inserted the end of a blister band unrolling from a reel and pushed toward a delivery opening. A blade moves vertically and cooperates with the edge of a support surface, situated downstream of the two rollers, to cut the blister band after a predetermined number of products, counted by a sensor, have passed through the delivery opening. An electric motor drives two ratchet coupling mechanisms acting in opposite directions and connected, by belts or chains, with pulleys or toothed wheels which are integral respectively with the rollers and with a pinion meshing with a rack fastened to the blade. An electronic unit controls and checks the working of the device. Optionally, a token, or coin receiver, a banknote reader or other payment mechanism may be used to allow the user to activate the dispenser after making a payment.

Abstract: A portable tube cutting apparatus which facilitates smooth, even cuts through a boiler tube-wall includes a frame supporting a movable carriage, a motor driven cutting tool secured to the carriage, and an articulated support means which allows for rotation of the cutting apparatus about a fixed point of securement to the boiler tube-wall and thereby permits lateral repositioning of the cutting apparatus relative to the point of securement to the boiler tube-wall. The apparatus has the advantage of permitting relatively long cuts such as up to about 3 feet to be made in a tube-wall While reducing the amount of time and effort needed to install and set up such apparatus relative to conventional track mounted apparatuses.

  • Patent number: 5339716
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cutter for cutting the ends from a mini blind so that the mini blind may be custom sized for a particular window opening. The mini blind cutter includes a framework which has a receiving area for receiving an end of the mini blind. A cutter blade is attached to a slide bar which is slidably mounted in the framework. The slide bar includes a rack engaged with a pinion gear that is rotated by a ratchet handle. Movement of the ratchet handle thus slides the slide bar along the framework and forces the cutter blade through the end of the mini blind.

  • Patent number: 5199221
Abstract: A portable tube cutting apparatus which facilitates smooth even cuts. The apparatus has a frame supporting a movable carriage, a motor driven cutting tool secured to the carriage, and vise-like fasteners for supporting the frame from a stationary object, such as the tube which is to be cut. A pair of spaced parallel rods, secured to the frame, pass through a pair of corresponding cylindrically bored guides attached to the carriage to restrict movement of the carriage to a linear path which passes through the tube which is to be cut while the apparatus is being used. A rack and pinion arrangement operably connected to a lever is preferably provided for smoothly advancing the carriage toward the tube.

  • Patent number: 5088365
Abstract: A cut-off die set of the double cut type, in which sections of tubing are successively severed from a length of tubing, utilizing a notching cut followed by a severing cut. A rack and pinion assembly is used to transform the vertical reciprocating motion of the upper and lower platen into the horizintal reciprocating motion used for the notching stroke. The rack and pinion assembly comprises a rack mounted to the upper platen and a gear sector mounted to the lower platen, the gear sector includes a drive roller which engages a cam track on the cross slide. As the upper platen and lower platen are vertically reciprocated, the rack member causes the gear sector to rotate, sliding the drive roller through an arcuate path. Movement of the drive roller through the arcuate path causes the cross slide to move in a reciprocating manner in relation to the reciprocating motion of the upper and lower platens.

  • Patent number: 4726273
Abstract: A bench press for small die sets has a rack and pinion that can serve several purposes; as a manual-power drive, as an adjustable stop, when the bench press has a power drive, and as an index that adjustably fixes orientation of the top plate relative to the base. Choice of orientation permits work to be advanced to a die set carried by the bench press from any of four directions and similarly permits access to the handle of the pinion from left or right, front or back. The pinion and handle travel up and down with the upper plate of the bench press and the rack is stationary.

  • Patent number: 4468995
Abstract: This invention relates with the method for manufacturing frames from aluminum profile rails, which undergo a series of cuts and perforations, done with a mechanism formed by two sections, an upper section which is made up of an upper plate to which a determined number of perforating bolts and knives are attached perpendicularly and a lower plate to which a determined number of blocks with different designs on their faces are affixed, resulting, as a consequence, a number of cavities into some of which aluminum profile rails will be inserted for cutting and perforation; and in others the perforating bolts and knives will penetrate making the cuts on the profile rails possible. Both sections are mounted on a support which by way of removable legs (preferable a tripod) can be positioned for operation.

  • Patent number: 4275628
Abstract: A device is disclosed for severing both a needle portion and an end nub portion of a syringe. The device includes a receptacle for the cutoff portions and a removable cover. A horizontally movable severing means may be suspended from the undersurface of the cover. Mounted on the cover is a handle which is mechanically linked to the severing means. Actuation or movement of the handle thereby causes horizontal movement of the severing means. By resting the syringe in a shoulder portion of the cover, the needle and nub portions of the syringe extend downward through an opening and are in line with the severing means. Therefore, when the severing means is moved in a horizontal direction, it will necessarily cut off the needle and nub portions.

  • Patent number: 4191080
Abstract: Transparent storm sash panes are carefully measured and precut for particular window dimensions. The precut rectangular pane is positioned in a gauging slot of a storm sash fabricating apparatus in which an adjustable stop is moved into opposition with a punch unit engaging opposite edges of the pane to thereby establish the proper length of a storm sash frame side to be punched from an extrusion of aluminum or the like. The punch is operated to form an interlocking end on one frame side and simultaneously to form such end on another frame side. Two pairs of frame sides thus produced in the apparatus are placed over the marginal edges of the precut pane, the frame sides being of channel formation, and are secured rigidly at the four corners of the pane by corner end caps or connectors having recesses to interlock with punched tabs on the opposite ends of the frame members. Accuracy of size, durability and economy of manufacturing for the storm sashes are assured.
