Abstract: A machining center is provided with a cutter depot structure comprising a cutter socket, a cutter disk, and a round machine frame. The cutter socket is rotatably mounted on the periphery of the cutter disk by a retaining pin which is put through an L-shaped rod of the cutter socket. The L-shaped rod is provided with a roller. The cutter disk is provided with an annular stop surface. The round machine frame is provided with a wearproof annular pad having a cut. The cutter socket in motion is confined by the stop surface of the cutter disk and the annular pad of the machine frame such that the cutter socket is kept in the horizontal state. The cutter socket is turned on the retaining pin to facilitate the inverting of the cutter, thereby resulting in reduction in length of a cutter exchanging arm.

  • Publication number: 20010039863
Abstract: With a blade exchanging device, a cylindrical body is engaged with a nut that is fastened to a spindle, and at the same time the nut is held by fitting nails of a chuck member with grooves that are formed on the nut. Next, a torque wrench is inserted through the cylindrical body, and a polygonal head of the torque wrench is engaged with a polygonal hole formed in the head of the spindle. In this state, the spindle is rotated with the torque wrench in a direction to unfasten the nut from the spindle. The nut is thereby detached from the spindle. When the cylindrical body is disengaged from the spindle, the nut is prevented from falling off the cylindrical body, since the nails of the chuck hold the nut.

  • Patent number: 6148526
Abstract: A handheld machine tool, for example a circular saw, has a disk-shaped tool which is driven in rotation in a housing which holds a drive motor and a tool shaft carrying the tool. The tool can be clamped between a clamping nut, a clamping screw, and two supporting flanges. One supporting flange can be rotated easily relative to the tool shaft without use of auxiliary tools and is supported with an extensive friction at the tool. This supporting flange can be dependably clamped or loosened without tools. The machine tool further has an adjusting device which is coupled with that supporting flange to displace the latter axially toward the tool when that supporting shaft is rotated relative to the tool shaft due to rotational driving. The adjusting device therefore clamps the tool with an increasing force and tries to displace that supporting flange axially away from the tool automatically when the tool is stopped and accordingly reduces the clamping force.

  • Patent number: 4934238
Abstract: In a device for clamping a circular saw blade, the saw blade is firmly clamped between two flanged rings and thereby connected to these so as to form an exchangeable tool unit which is pushed onto the free end of a saw shaft for rotation with the saw shaft and slidable displacement. Compression springs or the like are arranged between the tool unit and a stop face at the free end of the saw shaft to act upon one of the flanged rings and move the tool unit a short distance away from the stop face. A rotatingly mounted thrust plate which can be pressed centrically against the other flanged ring causes the tool unit to firmly engage on the stop face of the saw shaft.

  • Patent number: 4907920
Abstract: A milling cutter tool for cleanly and smoothly cutting honeycomb core material is disclosed. The cutter tool includes a circular saw blade sharpened to a knife edge. A bevel extends from the upper surface towards the sharp peripheral edge. A plurality of cutter bodies extend vertically above the circular saw blade. The cutter bodies include a plurality of teeth generally parallel to each other and extending vertically with respect to each other. The teeth include a piercing point and sharp cutting edges extending at a clearance angle from the piercing point. A flat surface extends between the teeth. The circular saw blade having a sharp bevel cutting edge provides a clean cut of the honeycomb core material at the surface to be cut. The sharp points of the cutting edges pierce the honeycomb material, dig into it and slice it. The cutting edges further slice and cut the dross honeycomb core material as it is separated from the surface being cut. A clean, smooth surface is left to which a panel may be bonded.

  • Patent number: 4809465
Abstract: A mounting for a grinding wheel serves to connect the grinding wheel to the tool spindle of a grinding machine has a holding member for the grinding wheel and a threaded fastener which separably secures the holding member to the spindle. The fastener is surrounded by an annular retaining portion of a tensioning device which has elastic prongs at one side and a compression spring at the other side of the retaining portion. The prongs are clamped between the holding member and the head of the fastener in response to rotation of the fastener in a direction to couple the holding member to the spindle, and the compression spring then reacts against the spindle so that the tensioning device maintains the fastener in form- and force-locking engagement with the holding device.

  • Patent number: 4794836
Abstract: The invention is a honeycomb core cutting tool wherein a primary cutter is used to cut the core to shape and secondary cutters are used to immediately shred that portion of the core being removed. The primary cutter is typically a commercially available circular saw blade modified by the machining of a plurality of peripherally located, radially inward directed slots dividing the primary cutter into segments which can be formed into a concave shape. A retainer threadably engages the end of the shaft and is used to force the primary cutter against a concave surface of a flange mounted to the shank of the tool, causing the primary cutter to deform into the concave shape. Mounted behind the flange and primary cutter are two "slot" cutters for shredding the portion of the core being removed.

  • Patent number: 4787147
Abstract: This quick change mechanism is a single bolt-on attachment for standard hand held power driven circular saws, to thereafter quickly install and remove diamond arbor saw blades without using any tool. A disc with a raised protruding center body is shaped to fit a standard diamond center blade, which when pressed down over this center body, is centered flat against the upper surface of the disc. The blade is then locked in place by expanding opposite undercut sections, which include the two closest points of the diamond. These expanding sections have undercut slots just above the upper disc surface and serve to wedge the blade down when moved radially outward. These resulting two wedging and sliding locks of the undercut sections are integral with radially sliding members, which move in and out in complementary "V" slots cut into the blade holding disc.
