With Additional Work Holding Or Positioning Means Patents (Class 83/720)
  • Patent number: 7464632
Abstract: A food slicer is provided having a support member including a base portion and an upstanding portion integrally formed with the base portion. The upstanding portion includes a rotating cutting blade secured thereto for slicing food product and at least one motor positioned within the upstanding portion for rotating the cutting blade. The base portion includes a food product table slidably secured thereto and is movable across the cutting blade for holding product while it is being sliced by the cutting blade. An adjustable gage plate also is provided for determining the thickness of a food product to be sliced by the cutting blade. A product fence for assisting in holding and stabilizing food product during slicing is included where the fence is removably secured to a portion of the food product table by frictional engagement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6708593
Abstract: A folding, straight-line, workpiece guide for a saw having a base, a saw blade extending vertically through the base, and a feed path relative to the saw blade. The workpiece guide comprises an elongated table which can be collapsed into a folded configuration or set up and locked into a working configuration. A carriage is constructed and arranged to support multiple elongated workpieces and to slide along the foldable table. The foldable table has multiple chassis sections pivotally connected to one another, adjustable legs, connectors for connecting the table to the base of the saw parallel to the feed path of the saw, and a guide track for guiding the carriage along the table when the table is in the working configuration.

  • Patent number: 6460440
Abstract: A cutting apparatus can make a length of a remainder material of a work as short as possible and can use one work effectively. The cutting apparatus has a main stock vice mechanism holding a work to be cut at upstream side and downstream side of a cutting position for cutting the work by means of a saw blade, a work feeding stock vice mechanism holding the work toward the cutting position for feeding per a predetermined cutting length, and a work drawing mechanism active when a difference between a length of a remainder material of the work and a feed limit length of the remainder material by the work feeding stock vice mechanism becomes shorter than a preliminarily set cutting length of the work. The work drawing mechanism holds a tip end of the remainder material at a predetermined position on downstream side of the cutting position or on upstream side of the cutting position for drawing the remainder material to extend a predetermined length from the cutting position.

  • Patent number: 5038652
Abstract: A sawmill carriage is provided with crosswise disposed guideways along which knee members travel for advancement of a log toward a saw plane. Linear actuators for each knee member are embodied in parallel hydraulic cylinders above and below a slide also on the guideway to reduce overall carriage width. A first linear actuator serves to position the slide while the remaining linear actuator is carried by the slide and has a piston rod end coupled to the knee member. The linear actuators function both in singular and in simultaneous modes to provide desired knee member movement and speed. The linear actuators are of the type providing a feedback signal which is processed by a controller for programmed operation of the actuators. Rail components of the guideways support the knee member and the slide on separate portions of the rails.
