The fingers of the transfer assembly move between a first closed position for receiving the band and a second open position for opening the band. The transfer arm is moveable between a first position for receiving the band and a second position for transferring the band. A banding assembly disposed at the second position receives the band from the transfer assembly. The banding assembly stretches the band and receives an item to be bundled within the band. The banding assembly releases the band about the bundle.

A lower hollow arm extends below the front portion of the base body from a lower section of the support arm. A pair of upper and lower levers have rear ends pivoted respectively in the upper and lower hollow arms, and front ends aligned with each other to define cooperatively a straight line that passes through the sawing slot. An elongated saw blade has two ends connected to the front ends of the upper and lower levers so as to pass through the sawing slot.

A blade holder frame is pivotally attached to the support and is formed in a generally V-shape for receiving a complementary V-shaped wedge. A first space between a first side of the wedge and the holder allows for the insertion of a scroll saw blade in line with the scroll saw arm and a second space between the wedge and a second side of the holder allows for the insertion of a blade at a 90.degree. angle to the scroll saw arm. A thumb screw inserted through a hole in the wedge and engaging a threaded hole in the holder urges the wedge into the holder, thereby pinching the blade in either of the aforementioned useful positions.

An elongated linking member has a first end pivoted to the driven lever and a second end extending into the hollow shaft. A longitudinal hole is formed near the second end of the linking member and has transverse positioning holes connected to the longitudinal hole.

    Abstract: A power driven reciprocatory machine tool employs an endless belt trained in tension around spaced end pulleys to transmit reciprocatory movement of a drive attached to one run of the belt to a tool carrier clamped to the opposite run of the belt. Clamp means which are tightened by the tension of the blade couple the blade to upper and lower arms of the tool carrier, one of the clamp means being mounted on its arm by a manually adjustable blade tensioning device.The saw, tool carrier and drive may be rotatively adjusted about a horizontal axis to cut inclined or beveled edges on a workpiece supported on the stationary horizontal table.
