  • Publication number: 20100139466
Abstract: In order to improve a saw device with a feed axis for a workpiece to be sawed, with a first saw unit to saw the workpiece in a first sawing plane extending transversely to the feed axis and with a second saw unit to saw the workpiece in a second sawing plane extending transversely to the feed axis, with a central device region arranged between the sawing planes, with a front device region arranged in front of the first sawing plane, viewed in a feed direction, and with a rear device region arranged behind the second sawing plane, viewed in the feed direction, in such a way that as high a cutting efficiency as possible can be achieved, it is proposed that the saw device comprises at least two transport mechanisms arranged in different device regions to transport different workpiece portions along the feed axis.

  • Patent number: 6834572
Abstract: A woodworking machine includes an adjustable table for holding a workpiece thereon and a drive chain saw spaced from the table and having cutting teeth on one edge and drive engaging chain guides adjacent an opposite edge. The drive engaging chain guides engage a drive wheel driven by a motor. A support plate is positioned above the table and has a plurality of slots therein for adjustably mounting a plurality of roller guide elements positioned to engage both sides of the drive chain saw. Each of the roller guide elements includes at least one groove in an outer periphery thereof and the drive chain saw includes circular chain guides which mate with the groove. Threaded pins are provided for adjusting the position of each of the roller guide elements to engage the drive chain saw whereby a portion of the drive chain saw is formed into an undulating shape to cut curved surfaces in the workpiece when the drive chain saw and the workpiece come into contact.

  • Patent number: 6230602
Abstract: A resaw includes a frame having at least one head. The head includes a horizontal mounting beam with four wheels operatively mounted to the mounting beam. The wheels comprise an inner pair of wheels and an outer pair of wheels. The centers of the inner wheels are vertically offset from the center of the outer wheels. A band blade is mounted about the four wheels to define a first blade portion and a second blade portion which are spaced from each other. A single head can simultaneously make two slices in a cant to cut two or more boards from the cant. The inner and outer wheels can be moved as a unit relative to the path of travel of a cant and the inner wheels can be moved relative to the outer wheels to enable adjustment of the thickness of the boards cut from the cant. In variations, the resaw can have two heads, and each head can have one, two, or more band blades. With a two head resaw, four slices can simultaneously be made in the cant.

  • Patent number: 5746105
Abstract: A bread slicer using endless blades, in which finger holders holding fingers are provided for guiding the endless blades so as to position the blades quickly and accurately. A plurality of endless blades are stretched between a pair of drums and fingers are provided, each finger having engagement pieces for guiding each of the endless blades in engagement therewith so as to position the blades, and each finger is held on a finger holder. The finger holders 1 are slidably positioned on guide bars 2. A spacer shaft is disposed parallel to the guide bars, and rows of plural spacers which are different in terms of width are attached on the spacer shaft. By rotating the spacer shaft, selected rows of spacers can be made to intervene between the finger holders 1. The spacer shaft 5 is rotated after being shifted by an air cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4574675
Abstract: A band saw (1) for slicing e.g. deepfrozen fish blocks. The band saw comprises two drums (10) arranged on a frame (11) and at least two saw blades (12), which run over the drums beside each other. The saw blades pass through one or several parallel blade guiding units (13) where they are twisted or inclined a predetermined angle (x) relative to the axis of the drum. The guiding unit (13) comprises cylinders (25) having inserts (20-22) which positively guide the saw blades parallel to each other. The cylinders (25) are locked in place by washers (19), which are positioned and aligned by an alignment tool.
