Roller With Peripheral Flange Or Groove Patents (Class 83/825)
  • Publication number: 20120192689
Abstract: A sheet material slitter with a guide assembly for receiving the edges of material along a slit formed in the sheet material. The slitter includes a cutting assembly in the form of a pair of cooperative slitting knives rotatably mounted in axially offset relation. A drive motor is coupled to the slitting knives and operative to counter-rotate the knives such that sheet material fed into the slitter is drawn through the slitter as the material is cut to form a slit. The guide assembly is mounted adjacent the slitting knives and comprises a pair of guide rollers rotatably supported in axially spaced relation. Each guide roller is capable of receiving a respective edge of material along the slit formed in the sheet material. The guide rollers are supported in substantially parallel relation to one another and may be supported at an angle with respect to the slitting knives.

Abstract: A guide for a saw band or blade of a sawing machine is provided. The guide includes a bracket and high-strength sliders, which are mounted to a bracket for a lateral guide of the saw band or saw blade and which serve for gliding contact to a side face of the saw band or blade. The sliders are high-strength guide plates, provided with an edge upstream in reference to the direction of motion of the saw blade or saw band, which is at least partially arranged in a straight manner or with a constant curve, with the edge or its tangents extending tilted at an angle from approximately 0° to 90°, preferably from 20° to 70°, in reference to the direction of motion of the saw blade or the saw band. Furthermore, several guide plates are mounted to the bracket at a distance from each other, forming clear spaces.

  • Patent number: 6997093
Abstract: In order to selectively reinforce portions of a material web, a cutting and laminating device efficiently produces the required reinforcing strips and then laminates them to the web. In order to efficiently and accurately produce these reinforcing strips, a cross web shear is utilized which is capable of cutting required reinforcing strips from the fairly large web of reinforcing material in an accurate manner. Once cut, a holding and positioning device is capable of grabbing onto the reinforcing strip and appropriately positioning it next to the primary material web. A separate laminator can then attach this reinforcing strip to the web at a desired location.

  • Patent number: 4987808
Abstract: A system for handling a flexible thin wall tubular extrudate of an elastomeric material of the type used as a body ply element for the manufacture of tires, and for cutting-off a predetermined length sleeve of the extrudate and delivering the sleeve to a discharge station. A pair of grippers is movably mounted on carriage assemblies which move the grippers horizontally and transversely with respect to the axis of the extrudate. The leading gripper provides tension to the extrudate and pulls it along a production axis. The trailing gripper engages the extrudate and moves in unison with the extrudate and the leading gripper along the production axis. The grippers completely circumferentially envelop the length of sleeve to be cut from the extrudate and retain the shape of the extrudate by applying a vacuum thereto. A cutting mechanism having a fixed motor driven blade and a pair of similar pivotally mounted blades moves vertically down into contact with the extrudate between the pair of grippers.

  • Patent number: 4757977
Abstract: An orbital pipe machine guiding system to guide the machine around the circumference of a pipe has a link chain having first and second ends and a length equal to at least the circumference of the pipe and has means to attach the link chain to itself around and against the pipe in a circle perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pipe. At least one wheel is operatively connected to the machine, such that when the wheel is positioned for revolving engagement with the link chain, the machine will be guided in the circle defined by the link chain. In one embodiment, the wheel has a continuous slot formed therein extending radially inward from the periphery thereof, and the inside surfaces of the slot slidingly engage the link chain. Any one link chain may be used for several pipe sizes and the fastening arrangement of the link chain is such that surplus chain overlaps a portion of the chain lying against the pipe. The slot in the wheel extends far enough to accommodate such overlap.

  • Patent number: 3987544
Abstract: A guide bar for a chain saw including a main bar portion having its outer end edge abutting a mating inner end edge of a nose portion. At least a section of one of the bar portions adjacent the abutting end edges is formed by side plates supported in a spaced apart position by spacing posts. A connecting web connects the bar portions with the said one bar portion fitting between the spaced apart side plates. The web is provided with slots to accommodate the supporting posts and displaceable ear portions extend into the slots to resist but not prevent passage of the posts. Forcing the said one bar portion over the web causes the ear portions to deflect around the supporting posts which then resists but does not prevent separation of said one bar portion from the web.
