Abstract: A precision cutting assembly comprises a frame, a material support table mounted to the frame and a cutting blade for cutting sheet stock material. A cutting blade carrier is mounted to the frame for movement along a linear path. Pressure producing elements contiguously hold the cutting blade carrier within precise parallel limits of movement along the linear path. The cutting blade carrier causes the cutting blade to accurately cut precision segments from a sheet of material disposed on the material support table. A precision measuring mechanism includes a precision threaded rod member and an indicating element mounted to move along a linear scale upon rotation of the precision threaded rod member. • Patent number: 4854207
Abstract: Disclosed is a power driven circular saw blade and a guide assembly for such blade where the guide assembly includes a pair of guide units mounted respectively one of each of opposite side of the blade. Each guide unit includes a guide housing with a guide block reciprocally mounted therein and having a saw blade engaging portion. A stop limits movement of the guide block at least in a direction of movement toward the blade so that the guide block is normally in non-engagement with the saw blade while the latter is in a smooth substantially vibration free running condition. The guide block is resiliently biasing against such stop preferably by pneumatic pressure. A guide assembly as described is preferably located at the outfeed side of the blade but there may be an assembly at both the infeed and outfeed sides of the blade. • Patent number: 4489634
Abstract: A table for supporting and guiding diverse portable power tools with precision and safety is disclosed. In one mode of use with a sabre saw, adjustable guide rails for the saw have free-floating engagement with locator posts on the table and rest directly on the workpiece which is being cut. The guide rails at one end can be raised or lowered for precise leveling and locked in the chosen position. Very smooth cutting by the sabre saw is enabled without chattering of the workpiece. In another form of the table there is a second mode of use with a circular saw or router, the guide rails are supported at a fixed height atop the locator posts and above the top surface of the workpiece resting on the table. A workpiece protractor guide on the table enables various cutting angles. Precision cutting of cove molding by a sabre or circular saw is possible by proper angular adjustment of the protractor guide and saw blade.

  • Patent number: 4207135
Abstract: A kit for making O-rings from cord stock material essentially includes a holding fixture for securing the material, a container of bonding liquid and a heating mold. The holding fixture allows the cord material to be cut diagonally in such a fashion that the magnitude of the angle is smaller for cord materials having a smaller diameter. Therefore, there is a larger bonding surface for smaller diameter materials. The O-ring heating mold includes two flat separable heat conductive blocks having a common flat interface. Apertures are located across the interface having cross-sectional diameters that are slightly less than the tube stock cross-sectional diameters. Since the central axis of each aperture is not located directly at the interface one portion will include more than 180.degree. of arc whereas the other portion will correspondingly include less than 180.degree..
