Blades Turning About Perpendicular Axes Patents (Class 83/878)
  • Patent number: 11408661
Abstract: An electric ice press includes a mold body having a first mold segment and a second mold segment movable relative to each other. A heated guide rail extends between the first mold segment and the second mold segment to transfer heat from the first mold segment to the second mold segment. The heated guide rail may be a heat pipe for transferring heat generated by a base heater in the first mold segment or an electrical resistance heating rod for generating heat, either of which requires only a single power cord electrically coupled to only the first mold segment.

  • Patent number: 11373017
Abstract: A computer-based design system for an electric drive system includes: a cam editor having a graphical user interface, wherein the graphical user interface sets values of parameters of a motion profile of the electric drive system on the basis of user inputs, a limit value memory, which stores limit values of the motion profile, and a limit value monitoring device, which monitors whether a value of a parameter inputted by a user input causes one or more of the stored limit values to be violated by the resulting motion profile and, in the case that one or more of the stored limit values are violated by the resulting motion profile, to adjust the inputted value of the parameter to such a value of the parameter that none of the stored limit values are violated by the resulting motion profile.

Abstract: An improved method of machining slots and material feed holes in a molding die such as an extrusion die designed to form a honeycomb structure of ceramics employed as a catalyst carrier of a catalytic converter for automotive vehicles. In one of the preferred embodiments, shallow holes are drilled in a die material and subjected to electrochemical machining to remove material from the bottoms of the shallow holes so that they communicate with the material feed holes without any burrs. In the other embodiment, the slots are cut using a rotary cutter in a given order which will balance reaction forces exerted on the cutter from both side walls of each slot to minimize deformation of the cutter during cutting of the slots, thereby preventing the slots from being curved undesirably.

  • Patent number: 5384954
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a guide plate for use in a chip carrier socket or other electrical connector provides the precision required for close-center line spacing while minimizing the cost associated with production. A block of ceramic or the like is ground to the precise outside dimensions required. Grooves are then cut in the block of ceramic, and the ceramic is then sliced into respective guide plates. The guide plates are inserted into openings provided in the electrical connector an retained therein. The grooves are dimensioned to cooperate with contact pins of the electrical connector to precisely maintain the pins in position, whereby when a chip is positioned in the electrical connector, the pins will be in position to make an electrical connection with the pads of the chip.

  • Patent number: 5215516
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for preparing box blanks of corrugated board which include feeding the blanks of corrugated board in succession along a feed path and in a direction parallel to opposite edges of the blanks. The blank is folded to form a flat tube prior to its formation into a box. The opposite edges of the folded blank overlap and are reduced in thickness in the areas in which the overlap occurs. Cutting means adjacent to the feed path removes material from opposite faces of the respective edges. The resulting flaps overlap with an unreduced portion of the board of the finished box.

  • Patent number: 5189939
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting blocks of ice has a frame which defines a feed chute slightly larger than the uncut block of ice. Four saws are mounted to the frame in pairs. Each pair of saws includes two counter rotating, radial saw blades aligned opposite each other and extending toward one another into the feed chute of the frame. To facilitate the transfer of the uncut block of ice into the feed chute, a feed assembly is attached to the frame. A discharge assembly is secured to the frame to assist in removing the cut ice from the frame. The frame is mounted on a stand in an inclined position with the feed assembly higher than the discharge assembly to allow gravity feed of the ice. A gang of blades may be used with the saws in order to cut the block of ice into smaller sized blocks with one pass through the feed chute. The saw blades have carbide-tipped saw teeth to extend the amount of use between resharpening or replacement.

  • Patent number: 4769198
Abstract: The cell poles of an electric battery, which have already been cast on a fully assembled plate group which is fixed in proper position for mounting in a holding box, are provided with a plastic coating using a dual injection mold which matches the predetermined distance between the poles. After the two mold halves are closed over the poles, a plastic melt is injected into cavities corresponding to the poles, which plastic is at the same time prevented from escaping from the mold by a gasket at the base of each cell pole, and a movable slide at the forwardmost end of each cell pole.

  • Patent number: 4132253
Abstract: A notching machine including a first cutting stage which makes four vertical cuts in the stringer, the outer two cuts defining the sides of the notch. The second cutting stage of the machine makes a horizontal cut which first separates a portion of the stringer between the inner two cuts thereby allowing the drive shaft of the second-stage cutting blade to pass through the partially formed notch and cut away the remaining portions of the stringer between the outer two cuts to define the notch.
