Abstract: A computer-implemented method in which one or more processing devices perform operations may include obtaining a field image of a railcar collected from a field camera system and applying a machine-learning algorithm to the field image to generate a machine-learning algorithm output. The method may also include performing a post-processing operation on the machine-learning algorithm output to generate a filtered machine-learning algorithm output. Further, the method may include detecting a defect of the railcar using the filtered machine-learning algorithm output.

Abstract: A string instrument pick holder assembly including a pouch operable to store one or more instrument picks. The pouch having an inner surface configured to contain the one or more picks, and an outer surface located opposite the inner surface. The string instrument pick holder assembly further including a saddle having a first surface and a second surface, wherein the second surface is located opposite the first surface, and a strap coupled with the saddle, wherein the strap is operable connect the saddle with a string instrument. Abstract: A structure with mounting fixture allows for viewing of a portable device at a multitude of device viewing angles to accommodate a wide range of user viewing positions. The structure comprises a main body, wherein the main body includes three or more lower stabilizing protrusions and an upper mounting fixture support protrusion. The structure disclosed herein further includes a mounting fixture, wherein the mounting fixture includes one or more device attachment mechanisms and one or more viewing angle adjustment notches. The structure disclosed herein further includes a tethering mechanism, wherein the tethering mechanism attaches the mounting fixture to the main body of the structure.

Abstract: A guitar body of a guitar composed of acrylic material can be modified to produce a highly visual and aesthetic prismatic effect in which white light entering the front of the guitar body can be seen as many separate colors. By applying dichroic paint and primer to precision cuts made into the interior cavity of the acrylic base, colors can be generated by the white light exiting the front of the guitar body. Further, the guitar body may be comprised of different materials for its filler core (forming a sandwich of tonal wood and foam) which cause the guitar to be lightweight, while simultaneously enhancing the sound quality of the guitar.

Abstract: This invention uses a simple, decorative and effective way to hold picks to a guitar body, especially a solid electric guitar body or the head of a neck. It comprises a flat plate, which can be conveniently included in the design of a pick guard, using at least one mounting screw, one or more fingers to hold down individual picks, each tensioned by separate screw, and a thin shield under the pick holder to keep each pick from rubbing on the body finish. The parts can be cut, carved or printed to decorative designs.

Abstract: A protective system includes a protective multi-layered body portion for protecting an instrument from debris, wind, temperature extremes, and visual observation. The body portion encapsulates the instrument fully assembled, so that a user has to remove the cover to utilize the instrument. The body portion minimizes contact with instrument. The body portion includes multiple layers. Each layer provides a unique, novel function for protection of the instrument. An inner layer engages the instrument. An intermediate layer contours to the shape of the instrument and provides insulation. An exterior layer forms the exterior protective surface and includes a pouch and a handle. Outside the body portion, a fastener regulates access to the inside. Inside the body portion, an instrument enhancing device, such as silica packs help protect the instrument. At least one wire carries a current along the body portion to provide heat for the instrument from an external source.

Abstract: The present invention is a slide holder for use with a guitar having a headstock and a plurality of strings to support a slide. The slide holder comprises a housing comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, and first and second cavities extending inward from the top surface. The slide holder further comprises a first magnet disposed in the first cavity and a second magnet disposed in the second cavity. The slide holder can be placed upon the headstock and under the strings of the guitar to magnetically secure the slide to the strings thereby providing a support for the slide when not used.

The apparatus has a lock body defining a cavity with a resilient retainer latch attached to the lock body. The resilient retainer latch partially protrudes over a side opening in the lock body so that a securing portion of the button is secured within the latch when the button is received in the cavity.

Abstract: A musical instrument support strap is integrated with a tuning sensor having of a body configured at one end for attachment to the musical instrument. The body carries the pitch of a musical note struck on the musical instrument and is detected by a pickup. A printed circuit board converts the detected pitch for display on a liquid crystal display module, preferably having a needle indicator and a color indicator. The sensor may be provided independently for attachment to an existing strap. The method of using the strap for tuning a musical instrument includes attaching the musical instrument support strap to a musical instrument; striking a note on the musical instrument; reading the measurement of the frequency of vibration on the liquid crystal display module; and, adjusting the musical instrument to change the frequency of vibration.

Abstract: A guitar with pick holder apparatus provides a coil spring that is attachable to the guitar strings at a position next to the tuners. The coil spring has end portions with handles that are positioned to provide left and right gripping surfaces or grasping surfaces for the hands of a user, thus enabling the user to grip and stretch or bend the spring and provide gaps between the spring coils. These gaps between spring coils enable strings of the guitar to occupy the gaps so that when the loops are released, the coils attempt to return to an original coil spring position, thus grasping each guitar string in between two coils of the coil spring.

Abstract: A microphone mounting system for an acoustic, stringed instrument that places the microphone in sufficient proximity to the instrument sound hole to capture the warmth and tone of the instrument while assisting in feedback control, and without altering or damaging the finish or structure of the instrument. The system includes a grip, such as a corrugated plastic tube, attached to a microphone and wedged into the instrument sound bole to be held in place through frictional engagement. The microphone is connected to an instrument cable coupler, clamped to the side of the instrument, which is then connected to a sound amplification system.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a plectrum apparatus comprises a ring capable of being releasably mounted to a user's finger, and a harness capable of releasably securing a plectrum, the harness being hingedly coupled to the ring. In one embodiment, a first spring is further provided and configured to bias the harness in a stowed position. A plectrum secured to the harness may be positioned toward a thumb side of the user's finger in the stowed position when the ring is mounted on the user's finger. The harness may be further capable of being retracted in a deployed position, the plectrum secured to the harness engaged between the user's finger and thumb.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a holder for drum sticks, drum brushes, mallets and other such percussion implements for playing percussion instruments. Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus which enables a harmonica to be removably attached to a string instrument such as a guitar without having to modify the physical aspects of the guitar and which retains the harmonica so that it can be immediately located and grasped into a playing condition so that a musician can play the guitar or other string instrument, immediately switch to playing the harmonica, and then return the harmonica to its location on the guitar and continue to play the guitar. More broadly defined, the present invention includes the concept of removably retaining a first musical instrument to a second musical instrument by a magnet.

Abstract: A supporting device for a stringed instrument, for example a guitar, comprises: a cradle portion for spanning the bottom side of the guitar body; a wrap portion for extending over the top side of the guitar body opposite the cradle portion and for being connected to the cradle portion for securing the cradle portion against the bottom side of the guitar body; and a strap portion extending between a first end for connection to the cradle portion opposite the guitar neck and a second end for connection to one of cradle portion or the wrap portion adjacent the guitar neck such that the body is suspended by the strap portion. The D-Tuner has keyed cam pegs, adjustable stops for limiting the extent of rotation of the cam pegs, and linear flexible members attached to the cam pegs. The flexible members are suitable for attachment to the second B string and third G string of a banjo for tuning the banjo when the keyed cam pegs are turned.

Abstract: A sheet music holder comprises a golpe board with a non-porous surface for gluing onto a guitar body with a porous surface, a twist lock power-assisted suction device, a clamp with a single tightening nut, and a sheet tray to hold the sheet music. The twist lock power-assisted suction device allows a user to easily create a strong vacuum attachment that will last for hours so a complete performance will not be interrupted. The golpe board is included where the guitar body has a porous surface that would otherwise frustrate the suction attachment. The double-ball and socket clamp and arm allows a variety of positioning possibilities for the user to best read the sheet music in the tray.
