With Variable Filtering Patents (Class 84/673)
  • Patent number: 10109267
Abstract: An electronic wind instrument includes: a breath pressure detector that detects a breath pressure developed in the instrument by breath blown into the instrument and that outputs a signal corresponding to the detected breath pressure; an adjustment unit providing an air exhaust passage for the breath blown into the instrument, the air exhaust passage being configured to have a variable conductance for air so that a sensitivity of the breath pressure detector relative to an input pressure of the breath blown into the instrument varies; and a controller that sets one or more among a tone, a volume, and a pitch of a sound to be generated by a sound source in accordance with the signal outputted from the breath pressure detector.

  • Patent number: 9508328
Abstract: A digital sound effect apparatus including a force sensing resistor, a processor, and a digital potentiometer. The digital sound effect apparatus may also include one or more inputs and/or interfaces, one or more power sources, and one or more power switches. The force sensing resistor outputs a voltage according to a user's variable force or other input. The processor generates a signal according to a function or look-up table with the voltage as an input. The digital potentiometer outputs a resistance or other electronic characteristic to generate a sound effect according to the user's variable force. The function or look-up table may be changed or modified via the one or more inputs and/or interfaces.

  • Patent number: 7732691
Abstract: Improved methods and apparatus of producing vibrato on keyboard percussion/tone bar instruments such as the vibraphone and marimba are provided. Means are disclosed for real time control of the expressive qualities of both the speed and strength of the vibrato of such instruments, while eliminating the need for an electrical motor. According to certain embodiments, methods and apparatus are disclosed to easily produce a change of dynamic level (crescendo and diminuendo) after a single strike of a tone bar or chord.

  • Patent number: 5389730
Abstract: An emphasize system for an electronic musical instrument including filter and control device. The filter extract and output predetermined frequency range component of an input musical tone signal. The control device control the level of an output from the filter at least on the basis of an output from an envelope generator which controls the level of the input musical tone signal, or on the basis of the level of another frequency range component of the input musical tone signal. At least the level controlled signal is outputted from the system.
