  • Patent number: 4031778
Abstract: A double-eccentric variable drive system is disclosed comprising a drive shaft, two eccentrics mounted on the drive shaft to be driven thereby, and means for varying the eccentricity of both of the eccentrics simultaneously. The means in question comprises a spindle having left-hand screw-threads on one end thereof and right-hand screw-threads on the other end thereof and an enlarged central portion rotatably mounted in the shaft but radially fixed relative thereto. The eccentrics each have a radial bore therethrough tapped to correspond with and receive the threads of the spindle, the bores being aligned on opposite sides of the shaft. Each eccentric has an axial bore larger than the diameter of the shaft in a direction parallel to the spindle to allow for movement of the eccentrics radially of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4030404
Abstract: A device comprising at least three reciprocable piston-shaped bodies, each of which is provided with a drive rod which cooperates, via a drive rod head accommodating sliding bodies, with a plate which is mounted on a rotatable shaft and which can be tilted about a tilting axis which is transverse to the center line of the shaft. The means for tilting the plate are formed by piston-shaped bodies which can rotate with the shaft and which can be adjusted in the direction of the shaft, the first of the said bodies being coupled to the plate on the one side of the tilting axis, the other body being coupled to the plate on the other side of the tilting axis. Each of the said piston-shaped bodies bounds a space whereto pressurized liquid can be applied, the masses of the said piston-shaped bodies also serving for balancing the unbalancing forces occurring during operation.

  • Patent number: 4028018
Abstract: Variable stroke pumping apparatus suitable for pumping chemicals in a pulseless manner irrespective of the stroke. The apparatus comprises a plurality of pumps connected in flow paths extending between a fluid inlet and outlet and a central housing containing a cam and cam follower devices mounted on a carrier which is pivotable to alter the stroke of the pumps while maintaining substantially constant aggregate pumping of the pumps. Pump reciprocating members for each pump, e.g. rams extend outwardly of the housing and are reciprocated by the cam follower devices.

  • Patent number: 3976400
Abstract: A high pressure positive displacement gradient pump for two flowable materials utilizing two reciprocating pistons with the pair of pistons pumping in an overlapping reasonably pulse free manner. The gradient of the two flowable materials is created by adjustment of the stroke of each piston. Streams for the pair of pistons are combined and mixed in a mixing chamber. A third pair of pistons may deliver the mixed stream at high pressure to the desired location.

  • Patent number: 3969046
Abstract: A system for metering and pumping a plurality of fluids is diclosed. The system includes a pumping stage which has a plurality of piston pumps extending from a rigid support to a rack hinged at one end. A valve stage is provided having a valve body with an internal rotatable valve spool. The valve body has several sets of inlet, outlet and common ports communicating with the valve spool, the common ports being connected to the respective pumps. One set of ports is provided for such fluid to be metered and pumped. For each set of ports, the valve spool has a flat portion and a circumferential indentation integral to the flat portion. Alignment of a flat portion of the valve spool with an inlet port of the valve body allows fluid to pass from a supply to the respective pump, and alignment of the flat portion with an outlet port allows the fluid to pass from the pump and out through the outlet port.

  • Patent number: 3965758
Abstract: Two or more reciprocating pumps are controlled to deliver fluids in adjustable proportions. The pumps are connected to respective actuating levers. Each lever is reciprocated about a pivot, whose position along the lever is adjustable to vary the stroke length of the pump connected to that lever. By so controlling the stroke lengths of the different pumps, the proportions in which they deliver fluids can be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 3943830
Abstract: An actuating force generating device has a multi-stage cylinder body consisting of a plurality of cylinders having different diameters and arranged in series; a plurality of pistons slidably fitted in the cylinders, respectively; fluid ports each provided in the cylinders to discharge or introduce fluid from or into the cylinders; a container provided in the rear of the multi-stage cylinder body; a piston rod forming an actuating end projecting from the multi-stage cylinder body, said rod extending through a rod guide and being affixed to the forward piston; and a resilient member adapted to urge the rearmost piston forwardly.
