Flow Reversal Patents (Class 96/349)
  • Patent number: 6866705
Abstract: Sanding and screening are steps in floor finishing that produce large quantities of fine dust which is difficult to remove and which plugs porous filter elements of dust collection systems. Dust collection is enhanced with a floor screening attachment for a floor machine. A vacuum system with a liquid filtering medium is provided to collect dust produced during screening. A dust collection unit is also disclosed to collect and separate sawdust produced by sanding which can cause foaming of a liquid filter medium.

  • Patent number: 6805734
Abstract: This invention relates to a cascade-type scrubber, with which the wet scrubbing of the exhaust gas and removal of droplets from the gas can be performed in one and the same scrubber, producing a pure, dropless gas. It is thus essential that the cascade tubing typical of the cascade scrubber and the equipment for droplet removal are combined into a single compact entity, which is formed of several nested chambers.

  • Patent number: 5958113
Abstract: An improved water vacuum extraction machine having a modular design allowing the detergent container to be removed when the machine is used in the vacuum mode when the detergent solution is not required. The water vacuum extraction machine includes a removable water filter to allow for the hydro filtration tank to be cleaned more easily. Further, an added filter is provided downstream of the suction motor to thereby reduce the amount of particles which are released into the environment. Specifically, the machine includes an outer casing including a bottom wall and a top wall and defining a chamber therein and a recovery tank removably positioned within the chamber. The hydro filter is disposed within the recovery tank and includes an inner tube and an outer which are concentrically arranged to define an annular space therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5908493
Abstract: The present invention is a three stage water-from-air-filter system which can be used in combination with substantially any household vacuum cleaner. The system includes a main cylindrically shaped body and a hollow cylinder within the main body. The main body and cylinder form a ring-shaped chamber. The chamber has a spherical bottom partially filled with water. The hollow cylinder is made of a large pipe and a small pipe. The large pipe has an areohydrodynamic separator. An entrance nozzle may be located on either the main body or on the small pipe. Regardless of where the nozzle is located, polluted air enters the ring-shaped chamber through the nozzle. In the chamber the air mixes with the water. The air and water mixture is centrifugally separated several times through the concentric cylinders within the filter system to ensure a high quality of cleaning.

  • Patent number: 5873143
Abstract: An exhaust filtration system that captures dust particles in water is provided. The filtration system removes a substantial part of the dust that is normally discharged into the environment with the air. The system includes: (a) device for filtering contaminated air to substantially remove debris therefrom and to thereby generate an initially filtered air with dust entrained therein; (b) an exhaust filtration system comprising a chamber having an air inlet to admit the initially filtered air into the chamber wherein the chamber contains water; (c) device for causing the initially filtered air to come into contact with the water to trap at least a portion of the dust from the initially filtered air to produce substantially dust-free air; and (d) device for discharging the dust-free air into the atmosphere.
