Abstract: A closed loop air handling system for monitoring and cleaning air from corrosive contaminants. Commonly occurring corrosive elements found in air can react in combination together and with other environmental conditions to increase the propensity for corrosion to occur. The higher corrosive level of air can react with metals causing degradation, wear and often lead to premature failure. This is especially prevalent in environments using forced air convection for cooling, such as data centers. The electronic circuitry is especially vulnerable to such corrosion and requires an environmentally controlled atmosphere with mild corrosiveness for long term reliability. The invention involves circulating the air in a closed loop and monitors and adjusts parameters of active filtration and purification to minimize corrosive agents. The system maintains a milder corrosive environment and better accommodates the use of “free cooling” from outside air for improved energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions.

  • Patent number: 7927408
Abstract: An inertial inlet particle separator system for a vehicle engine includes an inertial inlet particle separator and an adjustment mechanism. The separator includes a fluid inlet coupled to a scavenge channel and to a clean channel such that a first amount of fluid passing through the fluid inlet enters the scavenge channel and a second amount of fluid passing through the fluid inlet enters the clean channel. The scavenge channel is defined by a first wall and a splitter, and the clean channel is defined by a second wall and the splitter. The splitter and the second wall are stationary with respect to each other. The adjustment mechanism is coupled to the inertial inlet particle separator and configured to adjust a size of the scavenge channel. Although not necessarily, the adjustment mechanism may also be coupled to the scavenge fan speed.

Abstract: This cyclone device performs diphasic gas-oil separation to remove oil from the recirculated crank cases of an internal combustion engine. Mounted such that it can move vertically inside the cyclone is a body (7) exhibiting symmetry of revolution, particularly one of cylindro-conical overall shape. The body (7) delimits, with the walls of the cylindrical collecting zone (2) and/or of the conical zone (3) for recuperating the liquid oil, an annular gap (13) such that the passage cross section can vary according to the self-adjusting heightwise position of the body (7), as a function of the gas flow rate. The speed of the gases thus remains constant for variable gas flow rates.

Abstract: An air shower device which prevents allergenic substances which cause hay fever from being brought into a living space, in which a person resides or carries out an activity, by an outside body. The air shower device includes a suction unit, which takes in outside air; an air blower unit having an air blower which blows air which has been taken in, at a specific air-flow rate and a filter which cleans by removing dust, including pollen, from air which is blown; and a dust collecting unit which collects dust, including pollen, from exhaust of an air shower room which includes the air blower unit. Further, the air shower device includes an air-flow rate control unit which controls the amount of air blown by an air blower according to an amount of pollen dispersed in the outside air.

Abstract: System for a dust filter unit includes dust detector to measure dust concentration in an outlet conduit of the filter unit. A controller establishes the detected dust concentration following a cleaning cycle of a filter of the unit and in one form compares that detected concentration to a baseline concentration to identify whether there is possible leak in the filter. The system also includes monitoring arrangements to measure pressure profiles in the unit to assess the state of values and/or filters in the unit. Methods of detecting the state of a filter unit are also described.

Abstract: The invention refers to a centrifugal separator comprising a stationary casing defining an inner space, a spindle and a rotating member, which is attached to the spindle and arranged to rotate around an axis of rotation with a rotary speed. The rotating member comprises a number of separating discs which are provided in the inner space. A drive member drives the spindle and the rotating member with said rotary speed. A sensor device senses the rotation of the rotating member in relation to the casing. The sensor device comprises at least one transmitter element which is provided in the inner space on the rotating member and a receiver element which is provided at the casing and arranged to sense the transmitter element. The receiver element is provided on the casing outside the inner space.
