Abstract: A hob has a hob plate for putting a pan having a remote communication device thereon and multiple heating devices under said hob plate, a hob controller and a main communication device having a transmitter and a receiver for communicating with the pan to measure a distance between itself and the remote communication device. Said main communication device belongs to the hob controller and is designed to use a Bluetooth communication protocol and to receive an individual identifier of the remote communication device and to store the latter in the hob controller. The hob and the main communication device are switched on and a pan having a remote communication device is put onto the hob plate, this being detected. The distance between the main communication device and the remote communication device of the pan is then measured, and the pan position of the pan on the hob is thus determined. This pan position is stored along with the individual identifier of the remote communication device in the hob controller.

Abstract: A food cooking appliance includes a panel having a thermal inertia, and a heater to heat the panel from the bottom face thereof. The panel has at least two plates that lie on top of each other. Plates are made of different materials and are in close contact with one another across part of the facing surfaces thereof. The upper plate being suitable to receive the food to be cooked, and is made of stainless steel or titanium. The lower plate is made of cast iron. A method for manufacturing a panel consisting of two metal plates that are made of different materials and are bonded together in a metal casting process.

Abstract: A method for controlling a heating operation of an induction cooktop includes generating a direct current (DC) power from an alternating current (AC) power source. The DC power is supplied to a first resonant inverter and a second resonant inverter via a power supply bus. A switching frequency of each of the first resonant inverter and the second resonant inverter is controlled and in response to the switching frequency supplied to a plurality of induction coils of the resonant inverters, an electromagnetic field is generated. A selective tuning operation of the first resonant inverter or the second resonant inverter includes controlling a connection of a capacitor to either the first resonant inverter or the second resonant inverter.

Abstract: A cookware assembly including a cooking vessel with a vessel side wall and an elongated handle extending outwardly from the sidewall, a cover, an opening in at least one of the vessel side wall and the cover in an area above the elongated handle, and a utensil, where the handle of the utensil rests in relation to the elongated handle and the opening permits the utensil component to reside in the interior of the covered cooking vessel when the cover is on the cooking vessel. The cover can be placed on the cooking vessel in a plurality of positions, to allow the utensil to pass to the interior of the cooking vessel, to allow pouring from the cooking vessel with the cover on, and to seal the cover on the cooking vessel without the utensil. The floating mounting assembly allows the cooking surface to expand and contract in response to changing temperature without translating these dimensional changes to the mounting frame and negatively impacting the integrity or appearance of the countertop appliance. The floating mounting assembly can include a grommet assembly that connects to elongated apertures defined in the mounting frame. As the cooking surface expands and contracts, the grommet assembly can slide within the elongated aperture. Through the use of the elongated aperture, dimensional changes in the cooking surface are not directly translated to the mounting frame.

A plurality of orifices cut through the element in the areas of the nesting recesses and in the areas away from the nesting recesses. Abstract: An apparatus for cooking ground beef hamburgers by reflecting and trapping thermal energy and simultaneous accelerated bun cooking. The apparatus comprised of a plate that is hinged to the sidewall of the griddle for the simultaneous cooking of both sides of ground beef and buns on both sides. Once meat is placed in a first cooking area, the plates on the hinge are rotated down and come to rest on the meat, applying slight pressure to the meat. Plates are attached to the side wall and to the rear wall. Modified plates are used to facilitate the rotation of a large wire frame that contains a metal chain mail fabric into a second cooking area. When buns are placed in the second cooking area, the chain mail frame is brought down onto the outer sides of the buns, putting weight on the buns and accelerating their cooking time.

The heating system includes a retaining plate, a plurality of heating strips, and an insulating material. The heating strips are disposed between the retaining plate and the heating surface to heat the cooking area for preparing foods thereon.

The pattern incorporated into the support surface is comprised of a set of points (pyramids) creating a high point and a low valley underneath the supported article or food product in which air circulates or flows during processing. In a preferred embodiment various shapes and sizes of baking sheets incorporating a “pyramid pattern” is stamped onto a metal sheet and the stamped metal sheet is then formed into the desired shape. The sheets are constructed of various metal alloys used in the food equipment industry including, but not limited to aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and silicone. The sheets will also be coated with a non stick substance.

Abstract: An apparatus for use with a commercial grill to increase safety, efficiency, and organization. The apparatus includes a barrier extending upwardly from the cooking surface, and extending along the backsplash of the grill, the barrier having an accessory staging feature along a topmost portion, the topmost portion being at least eight inches above the cooking surface. The accessory staging feature can support one or more accessories. The invention may thereby increase usable grill surface area. The apparatus can also include an attachment assembly for attaching the barrier to a standard backsplash, or the barrier can be an integral extension of the backsplash. The invention substantially reduces the likelihood of ventilation/exhaust well fires. The invention makes cleaning the factory backsplash much easier, because the backsplash is substantially protected from splatter by the invention. The invention substantially protects the stainless steel or tile kitchen back wall from splatter, smoke, grease, and soot.

In some embodiments, the stoves are plancha-style stoves comprise cast iron planchas that are more durable and efficient that existing stoves. The plancha-style stoves, described herein may comprise a combustion chamber comprising an inlet, a stack chamber comprising an inlet and an outlet; a gas path chamber, comprising a ceiling and a floor, wherein the ceiling is defined by a removable plancha cooking surface having a substantially planar upper surface and a lower surface; a chimney box; and a chimney. In many embodiments, the stack chamber defines a cross-sectional area that is larger than the cross-sectional area of the inlet to the combustion chamber to prevent smoke from escaping the combustion chamber through the inlet.

Abstract: An angled frying pan stand that includes a truncated cylindrical tilt stand rotatably disposed upon a generally circular base, the tilt stand having a bottom side and an upper surface, the upper surface disposed at an acute angle relative the bottom side, each of a pair of side supports retractably extendable upon an extendible track portion disposed on a sidewall, with a first holding edge and a second holding edge configured to support an extant frying pan at an angle upon the top surface, the angled frying pan stand including a strainer piece removably attachable over the rim of a frying pan to partition a segment of the frying pan wherein grease may collect under the influence of gravity separated from any foodstuffs in the pan.
