The energy received by the energy reception portion of the cooking grate is then conducted through the cooking grate to cooking members to cook food thereon. The present invention also provides a grease control structure for the grate to assist in directing the flow of grease away from the burners.

Abstract: A cooking device comprises a cooking surface and a wall structure that extends away with respect to the cooking surface. Examples of the cooking device include a closure configured to be moved with respect to the wall structure from a first position to a second position. Access to the cooking surface is provided when the closure is oriented in the first position and the closure is configured to cooperate with the wall structure to define a cooking chamber when the closure is oriented in the second position. A handle can be attached to the closure, wherein the closure is configured to move from the second position to the first position by moving the handle away with respect to the wall structure. In addition or alternatively, the cooking device may include a rotisserie device with an arm configured to move from a retracted position to an extended position with respect to the wall structure.

Abstract: A stovetop grilling device includes a catch tray that has a plurality of downward pointing V-shaped first members attached to a first frame and having parallel side edges spaced from one another by a first distance. A grilling surface has a plurality of upward pointing V-shaped second members attached to a second frame and having parallel side edges spaced from one another by the first distance. The second frame is located over the first frame with a mid-point between the parallel side edges of each of the first members centrally located between and below the parallel side edges of two adjacent second members and a mid-point between the parallel side edges of each of the second members centrally located between and above the parallel side edges of two adjacent first members. Heat follows an angled path upward to the grilling surface and food drippings flow downward to the catch tray.

Abstract: A heating rack comprising a plurality of spaced discrete elongate members (26) which an object (16) to be heated is placed and exposed to a source of heat. Each member (26) having a main body (28) with two side faces (30) that, in use, extend in a vertical direction and along the member (26), and a side member (32) located at the lowermost extremity of each side face (30). Each side member is shaped, positioned, and arranged, relative to its respective side face (30) so that, in use, liquid from the object (16) when it is heated is induced to run down each side face (30) due to surface tension effects and is collected by each side member (32) and directed in a direction along each side member (32) to a collection region at one or both ends of the members (26).

  • Patent number: 7415922
Abstract: A grill surface or pan provide for the removal of fats and oils by supporting the foodstuffs on ribs that slope downward such that the intervening regions form channels for transporting fluids to the edge of the pan, and away from the cooking food stuffs. The draining channels are interrupted by intervening ribs of a lower height than the first set of foodstuff supporting ribs. The intervening ribs have a series of slits or holes formed in there apex to enable the direct cooking of the foodstuff by radiant heat from a flame or heating source disposed underneath the grill surface. The grill surface may be combined in a pan that provides a peripheral fluid collecting channels at the termination or junction of the draining channels disposed between the sets of rib food supporting and slotted or perforated ribs.
