Including Coacting, Relatively Rotating Imperforated Surfaces Patents (Class 99/521)
  • Patent number: 8919243
Abstract: Provided is a cooking appliance. The cooking appliance includes a cooktop part on which a grill module for grill cooking is detachably disposed, a collection device for sucking an exhaust gas generated in the grill module, an exhaust device forcibly sucking the exhaust gas collected into the collection device to exhaust the exhaust gas to the outside, and a guide device for guiding the exhaust gas collected into the collection device to the exhaust device. The cooking appliance enables different types of food to be simultaneously cooked according to different cooking methods, and thus cooking time for food may be reduced and various demands of users may be met.

  • Publication number: 20090068332
Abstract: A seed shucking appliance for separating seed coverings from their kernels comprises a vertical cylinder within which is rotated an upward pointing and rotating cone. The top surfaces of the cone and the inside surfaces of the cylinder are roughened to catch and grate the skins or hulls off water-softened beans or grains poured in from above. The clearances and textures between the roughened cone and inside cylinder are such that most of the skins or shells stay above the cone after being knocked loose, and the bared seed kernels drop down through without necessarily being ground up or smashed. What drops through is sent to a water bath where any remaining skins or shells are floated away. The bared seed kernels are drained and ready to be used as whole seed kernels in various kinds of foods.

  • Patent number: 6951169
Abstract: In a horizontal grinding-type rice polishing machine which is so configured that a grinding roller (1) installed circularly and fixedly on a horizontal rotation axis (10) is covered with a concentric cylindrical bran removing screen (S) that can be split into longitudinal two screen halves (2) to thereby form a rice polishing room, the total of even number of a stopper (3) and a flap (4) are fixedly provided on an inner peripheral surface of each of two-part split screen halves (2) of the bran removing screen (S) so that they align alternately in the axial direction, the stopper (3) and the flap (4) being formed by a circular arc member which curves along the circumference of a circular cross section perpendicular to the axial center of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5390589
Abstract: A pearling machine has an abrasive type pearling roll assembly which is formed by stacking a plurality of pearling rolls via intervening air blowing spacers. Stirring bars are secured to the outer periphery of the individual pearling rolls. Resistance bars are provided on the inner surface of a vertical polygonal bran removal cylinder. With a cooperative function of the stirring and resistance bars, grains supplied to a pearling chamber defined by the pearling roll assembly and the bran removal cylinder receive active spinning and revolution action. The grains thus receive uniform cutting action, and thus they are pearled uniformly. The vertical pearling machine permits optimum pearling of grains in dependence on the kind and character of the grains and is suited particularly to the pearling of tempered wheat with outer layer part having been made tough and inner layer part having been made soft.

  • Patent number: 5275834
Abstract: The starting product is rich in broken-down plant cell walls. Water is added, if necessary, to obtain a mixture suitable for the subsequent shearing treatment. The product is subjected to a shearing stress before extrusion, to obtain product containing a water-soluble polysaccharide fraction greater than that which exists in nature, without changing the overall chemical composition. The modified product is obtained in the form of crushable aggregates. If the starting product is derived from higher plants naturally rich in pectins, the latter (which have a dry matter content of at least 70%) are extracted from the water-soluble fraction by precipitation by an alcohol or by its multivalent salts. The extraction residue consists of edible fibres.

  • Patent number: 5209158
Abstract: A machine for cleaning and polishing grains comprises at least one treatment chamber which includes an upper frusto conical baffle having a central opening to admit grains thereinto, an intermediate rotatory disc to impart movement to the grains falling thereon through said opening and a lower frusto conical baffle having a central opening to discharge the grains, said upper frusto conical baffle having a stationary brush and a stationary set of flexible fingers vertically hanging therefrom, and said rotatory disc having a rotatory brush and a rotatory set of flexible fingers hanging from its lower surface in a direction and to a distance suitable to confront the upper surface of said lower frusto conical baffle, whereby the grains are cleaned by the action of said stationary brush and set of fingers on the moving grains driven by the rotatory disc, and by the action of said rotatory brush and set of fingers on the grains sliding down said lower frusto conical baffle.

  • Patent number: 4913045
Abstract: In an apparatus for humidifying polished rice, a conveyor has a tubular housing which defines a predetermined transport path for the polished rice. The conveyor conveys the polished rice, while steering the same, along the transport path. A humidifier is arranged in association with the transport path for adding moisture to the polished rice conveyed along the transport path to humidify the polished rice. A blower is arranged in association with the transport path for causing air to flow therealong. A rice milling system comprises a rice polishing machine and the apparatus connected thereto. The rice polishing machine polishes brown rice to form the polished rice. Polishing of the brown rice to the polished rice raises temperature of the polished rice. The polished rice elevated in temperature is supplied to the housing of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4131061
Abstract: A disc refiner wherein the operating faces of its discs are arranged to have interdigited teeth disposed in radially spaced rows and to further have dams interposed between selected successively adjacent of said rows. The dams are characterized by being parallel to said rows and substantially coextensive therewith. Each dam is accordingly substantially continuous and each serves in the operation of the discs to block substantially all material moving across the face of the disc of which it forms a part and causes it to be deflected outwardly and to impact on the operating face of the opposing disc. The arrangement is such to insure that as the material the constituents of which are to be separated moves across the respective operating faces of opposed refiner discs it will be repeatedly thrown from one disc operating face to the other and in the process have imposed thereon a forceful separation of constituent parts.
