Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for roasting raw coffee beans which apparatus can instantly roast a small quantity of raw coffee beans according to personal taste and provide a unique taste and fragrance of coffee, and in particular to an apparatus suitable for home use. The apparatus has a roasting vessel for containing raw coffee beans to be roasted. A plurality of air openings are provided for creating a whirling vertical motion to a heated airstream ascending therethrough, whereby the raw beans are roasted and also caused to have their hulls separated and caused to ascend upwardly with the airstream to a hull-receiving vessel.

Abstract: A rice hulling and sorting machine includes a pair of hulling rolls which drop husked rice grains into a pneumatic sorting compartment which the husks are preliminary sorted from the rice grains; the rice grains thereafter being thrown upwardly into one end of the upper of two horizontally mounted rotating sorting cylinders. The interior surfaces of these cylinders have a multitude of recesses for trapping single rice grains at the bottom of their circumferential paths of movement to carry them upwardly and dropping them into conveying troughs which run the length of the interiors of the cylinders. Rice grains which are not trapped in the upper cylinder are fed back into the hulling rolls while those dropped into the upper trough are fed to the lower interior of the lower cylinder where they are again subject to being trapped in the recesses of the lower cylinder and dropped into the lower conveyor trough.

Abstract: A rice pearling machine with a humidifier in which a humidifying-pearling chamber consisting of a perforated wall debranning-pearling cylinder and a friction pearling roll and incorporating a humidifying arrangement is communicated with an airing-pearling chamber consisting of a perforated wall debranning-pearling cylinder and a friction pearling roll and incorporating an airing arrangement to form an integral pearling space. The humidifying-pearling chamber includes a rice hopper inlet and the airing-pearling chamber includes a rice outlet. The shaft on which the both friction pearling rolls are mounted is hollow to serve also as an air duct with air holes formed along its length, the duct being partitioned in the vicinity of the border between the two pearling chambers.
