Abstract: An application device is configured to clean grinding surfaces in a machine for grinding ophthalmic lenses, the application device including: a central portion having so as to mount the application device in the grinding machine; and a peripheral edge configured to receive an application surface to cooperate with the grinding surface of the grinding wheel so as to clean the grinding surface. It also relates to a cleaning kit including an application device and a cleaning solution, and to a method for cleaning grinding surfaces.
Abstract: Apparatus are provided for automatic repositioning of fluid nozzles when operating on a workpiece with a tool. The apparatus includes a nozzle assembly configured to convey a fluid to a target zone defined on the workpiece and/or on the tool. The target zone has a location that varies over time. A spring applies a spring force to bias the nozzle assembly toward the target zone, and moves the nozzle assembly as the location of the target zone varies. The nozzle assembly moves to a position relative to the target zone by a combination of action of the spring force and of any hydrodynamic force of the fluid, when moving through the nozzle assembly.

Abstract: An abrasive article, in particular a coated abrasive disc, includes a plurality of holes which are arranged in a hole pattern. The density of holes decreases from an inner region of the hole pattern to an outer region of the hole pattern. At least one hole in the hole pattern is designed as an elongated hole.
Abstract: A slip-on adapter that is adapted to be coupled to existing adapters that have already been developed. The slip-on adapter couples to existing adapters by positive retention on either the outside diameter or inside diameter of the existing adapter. For example, the slip-on adapter can include an O-ring that grips the outside diameter of the existing adapter that it is slipped onto. The slip-on adapter can also be used as a “flip adapter” with different geometries at both ends for use with two different size ball joints. This allows for less expensive adapters for new size ball joints by connecting to existing adapters, rather than requiring full machining of a new adapter.
Abstract: A grinding apparatus includes: a grinding stone in which an outer circumferential surface thereof is pressed against the workpiece while being rotated and driven; and a fluid injection apparatus that has a fluid injection nozzle including an injection port from which a fluid is injected to the outer circumferential surface of the grinding stone, and a grinding oil supply apparatus that supplies a grinding oil to a processing point and that includes a grinding oil supply nozzle separate from the fluid injection nozzle, the processing point being an abutting section of the grinding stone and the workpiece, wherein the injection port is arranged so as to face the outer circumferential surface of the grinding stone in a state capable of injecting the fluid to a position different from the processing point in a radial direction of the grinding stone among the outer circumferential surface of the grinding stone.
Abstract: A peening device for treating a component includes a shot media propulsion source configured to propel a quantity of shot media. The device also includes a plurality of treatment enclosures each selectively coupleable to the shot media propulsion source. Each of the treatment enclosures has a shape complementary to a corresponding one of a plurality of portions of the component, such that each treatment enclosure and the corresponding portion cooperate to enclose the shot media.
