    Abstract: A fishing float comprising a buoyant body made of a pair of cylindrical sections moveable from an extended position to a folded position and a coiled loop on each of the sections for receiving a fishing line, the loop permitting the body to move with respect to the line when the sections are in the extended position. A resilient band secures the sections in the folded position and restricts movement of the body with respect to the fishing line The resilient band releases when the fishing line is subjected to a predetermined tension to permit the sections to move to the extended position.
