Abstract: A foldable ramp, typically a portable foldable ramp for use in allowing access to wheelchairs up and down steps and/or into and out of vehicles. The ramp has two track members that each have a channel formed along their elongate sides that face each other when the ramp is unfolded. A series of first hinge elements is retained in one channel and a series of second hinge elements retained in a second channel. Each element of the series of first hinge elements is arranged to cooperate with at least one element of the second series, so that the first and second hinge elements are arranged alternately in the ramp to provide a hinge connection between the elongate sides of the first and second track members.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a ramp system. The ramp system includes a riser component that includes a first side and a second side that meets the first side. The second side and first side form an angle that is less than 90.degree.. The ramp system also includes an adjuster component positionable within the riser component. The adjuster component lifts one end of the first side so that an angle that the second side makes with the horizontal is increased when compared to an angle made between the second side and the horizontal without the adjuster component.
Abstract: A ramp for loading and unloading snowmobiles and other vehicles from a load bed such as a trailer or transport vehicle. The ramp comprises a pair of longitudinal tracks joined by a plurality of transverse members. Such transverse members are adapted to receive the wheels of the objects being transported or, in the case of snowmobiles, the belt grip thereof. In the case of snowmobiles, the skis of such vehicle are received on the longitudinal tracks. The ramp includes a pair of wheels for use in moving the ramp across the load bed. The wheels are positioned at a location on the ramp corresponding to the center of mass of such ramp when supporting the snowmobile or other such vehicle. The tracks of the ramp are preferably angled upwards to avoid contact with the load bed when being moved across same. The spacing of such tracks is adjustable so as to permit transport of the vehicles having a variety of widths.
