Abstract: A new and distinct variety of apple tree is described. The variety results from a limb sport found in Washington, United States. The fruit of the apple tree of this new variety have an attractive appearance, characterised by a high proportion of red over color and an over color pattern that is a solid flush with weakly defined stripes.

Abstract: Malus domestica Borkh ‘Stark Gugger’ variety is distinguished from the ‘Starking Delicious’ variety and other Red Delicious varieties by the a unique combination of characteristics including purple red fruits with solid flush coloration on 100% of the surface, a fruit shape that is long truncated-conical with pronounced crowning at distal end, fruit coloration that starts 10 days earlier than other Red Delicious varieties; an anticipation of fruit maturation of 5-7 days compared to other Red Delicious variety and a growth habit that is standard (not spur) 20% stronger than other Red Delicious standard.

Abstract: A new and distinct variety of apple tree which originated as a sport limb mutation of ‘Wells and Wade cultivar’ Oregon Spur® of red delicious apple tree (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 2,816), characterized by a more uniform deeper red color, developing much earlier than fruit of other red delicious varieties, and having a thicker stem and longer, deeper red leaf midvein.
