The first seat is longitudinally installed at least partially between the front end of the monorail car and a spinning axis of the front wheel.

Abstract: In a method of operating a system for announcing the presence of one or more individuals on or near a pathway to an operator of a vehicle traveling on the pathway, each of a number of data readers positioned along the pathway receives data input by the one or more individuals. Abstract: A train registry system is overlaid upon an existing automatic train protection system and operates simultaneously with the automatic train protection system to collect redundant information that may be utilized in the event that the automatic train protection system computer and backup computer must be restarted or in the event a vehicle no longer communicates with the automatic train protection system computer. The train registry is comprised of a plurality of transponders mounted upon train vehicles and transponder readers mounted at wayside locations to extract information from vehicles and forward the information to the wayside computer.
Abstract: A vehicle with a partition area for passengers between two sections of the vehicle, wherein a fire protection apparatus is mounted in the ceiling region of the partition area and has a protective curtain that can be transferred from an idle position, in which the partition area is open, into a closed position in case of a fire. Abstract: A track brake control system for providing braking of a railway vehicle is disclosed. The control system operates upon receipt of an emergency braking command. The control system includes a member for receiving deceleration information from one or more sensing devices. The control system further includes member for comparing the deceleration information with a reference value or reference profile. Further, the control system includes at feast one regulating device for continuously adjusting a braking demand signal to a track brake so as to cause deceleration of the railway vehicle based on the this comparison.
