Abstract: An electro-optic display comprising at least two separate layers of electro-optic material, with one of these layers being capable of displaying at least one optical state which cannot be displayed by the other layer. The display is driven by a single set of electrodes between which both layers are sandwiched, the two layers being controllable at least partially independently of one another. Another form of the invention uses three different types of particles within a single electrophoretic layer, with the three types of particles being arranged to shutter independently of one another.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for conducting a checkless cash access settlement are provided. In one embodiment, a cash advance method includes the following: a customer initiates a cash access transaction via a cash access system; the customer receives authorization or denial; the customer provides identification and the financial card to a cashier or attendant; the cashier or attendant validates the customer's identity, retrieves the transaction information, and completes the cash advance application; the application prints a non-negotiable instrument, such as a transaction receipt; the customer signs the receipt confirming the transaction with a physical receipt or electronic capture.
Abstract: A golf club head comprises a body having a face, a crown and a sole together defining an interior cavity. The body having a channel located on the sole and extending generally from a heel end of the body to a toe end of the body. A weight member movably positioned within the channel such that a position of the weight member within the channel is able to be adjusted, thereby adjusting a location of a center of gravity of the body. Additionally, adjustment of the weight member provides a maximum x-axis adjustment range of the position of the center of gravity (Max ?CGx) that is greater than 2 mm and a maximum z-axis adjustment range of the center of gravity (Max ?CGz) that is less than 2 mm.

Abstract: A first component of a graph-based program specification includes an output control port. A second component includes an input control port and an input data port. A third component includes an output data port. The output control port is connected to the input control port, and the output data port is connected to the input data port. The first component includes control code that when executed causes the output control port to provide, to the input control port, at least one of suppression information or invocation information. The second component includes control code that when executed causes a computing system configured by the graph-based program specification to begin processing data received at the input data port in response to the invocation information if no suppression information is received at the input control port before the invocation information is received at the input control port.

Abstract: Projector display systems comprising a light dimmer and first modulator are disclosed. The light dimmer may comprise an adjustable iris, adjustable light sources and/or LCD stack that is capable of lowering the luminance of the light source illuminated the first modulator. The first modulator may comprise a plurality of analog mirrors (e.g. MEMS array) and the second modulator may comprise a plurality of mirrors (e.g., DMD array). The display system may further comprise a controller that sends control signals to the light dimmer and first modulator. The display system may render a desired dynamic range for rendering a projected image by a combination of such control signals.

Abstract: A surgical apparatus comprises a body, an ultrasonic transducer, a shaft, an acoustic waveguide, an articulation section, an end effector, and an articulation lock assembly. The ultrasonic transducer is operable to convert electrical power into ultrasonic vibrations. The shaft couples the end effector and the body together. The acoustic waveguide is coupled with the transducer and includes a flexible portion. The articulation section is coupled with the shaft and encompasses the flexible portion of the waveguide. The articulation section comprises a first member and a second member. The second member is longitudinally translatable relative to the first member. The end effector comprises an ultrasonic blade in acoustic communication with the ultrasonic transducer. The articulation lock comprises a tensioning feature, which is configured to selectively apply tension to at least one of the first member and the second member of the articulation section to thereby increase rigidity in the articulation section.

Abstract: Systems and methods for disabling one or more plugins associated with a browser application are provided. In one exemplary method, a plugin is installed on an electronic device, and the device receives data from a data source, where that data is associated with the installed plugin. Whether the installed plugin meets a disabling criteria is determined. In accordance with a determination that that the installed plugin meets a disabling criteria: performance of a function with the installed plugin is foregone; and it is reported to the data source that the installed plugin is not installed on the electronic device. In accordance with a determination that the installed plugin does not meet the disabling criteria, the function is performed with the installed plugin.

Abstract: A received graph-based program specification includes: a plurality of components, each corresponding to at least one operation; and a plurality of directed links each connecting an upstream component to a downstream component. Processed code is generated representing one or more groups of operations by: identifying a possible level of concurrency in a first group of operations based at least in part on a topology of the graph, such that multiple operations in the first group are not prevented by the topology of the graph from executing concurrently; analyzing at least some of the operations in the first group to determine runtime characteristics associated with the analyzed operations; and generating processed code for executing the operations, where the processed code enforces a reduced level of concurrency in the first group, lower than the identified possible level of concurrency, based at least in part on the determined runtime characteristics.
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, that provide automated topology change detection and policy based provisioning and remediation in information technology systems, among other functions and advantages.

Abstract: This invention is directed to methods for the facile and accurate identification of cancer cells in a tissue sample, such as a surgical field. In particular, the compositions and methods employ conjugates comprising pro-fluorescent fluorescein based moieties bound to folic or pteroic acid targeting moiety optionally through a linker. The pro-fluorescent fluorescein based moieties are non-fluorescent but capable of being rendered fluorescent by intracellular processes. The conjugates are employed to detect cancer cells that overexpress folic acid receptors thereby providing for differential accumulation of these conjugates in these cells.

Abstract: Fastening means, a preferred embodiment of which is shown in FIG. 2, hasajoist 1 and a locking member 5. The joist 1 has a channel and locking extensions and the locking member 5 has a base 6 and an upstand 7. The base 6 has rounded corners 10. The fastening means is formed such that when it is in use the locking member 5 can be slid into the channel and rotated therein to assume a locking position, such rotation made possible by the rounded corners 10 which, when in use, serve to prevent a rotational impasse between the joist 1 and the locking member 5. The fastening means is formed such that when the locking member is in the locking position it is in a tight fit within the channel and cannot pull out of the channel by reason of obstruction by the locking extensions.
