  • Patent number: 6487067
Abstract: A flat pack electrolytic capacitor includes an aluminum end cap having an electrolyte fill hole that is sealed with a seal mechanism to preclude electrolyte leakage under normal operating conditions. The end cap is welded to an open-ended aluminum case in which a capacitor is inserted and the hole is sealed with an O ring and closed end pop rivet after the case is filled with electrolyte. The O ring is initially compressed during positioning of the rivet and further compressed when the closed end rivet is installed.

Abstract: A minimally invasive system and method for coupling a spinal rod to a plurality of bone anchors implanted into a plurality of vertebral bodies. A plurality of bottom-loading polyaxial anchor seat assemblies having different vertical heights are chosen to pop over the heads of the implanted bone anchors and a spinal rod is more easily introduced and secured to the bone anchors. The variety of different heights that characterize the plurality of polyaxial anchor seat assemblies allows a surgeon to intraoperatively choose the appropriate offset for a particular spinal level during spinal corrections.

Abstract: An application synchronizes views during document presentation. The application detects a selection of a section of a portion of presented content at a presenter view. The application shifts the portion of the content displayed at an attendee view to bring to focus the selection. Alternatively, the application displays the selection in a pop-out view pane within the attendee view to bring to focus the selection. The application also shifts content in the attendee view according to an offset ratio calculated from comparing a non-displayed section of a page of the document and a displayed section of a page of the document within the presenter view.

Abstract: A method, medium and implementing processing system are provided in which electronic message content and other selected or predetermined components of an electronic message are automatically displayed whenever an abbreviated or condensed message identification on a listing of messages is highlighted by a user. In one exemplary embodiment, Whenever an item of a message listing is highlighted by a user of a wireless phone or other communication device, a first pop-up content window is created and overlaid upon the listing display. The content window enables the user to view only predetermined portions, for example the first several lines of text of the highlighted message without having to access and scroll through other detailed portions of the message.

  • Patent number: 5178424
Abstract: An insertion indication device for use with a quick connect fitting includes a generally annular base member which is adapted for positioning about a male conduit inside of a connector housing. One or more leg members extend axially from the base member and terminate near an axial opening formed in the housing for receiving the conduit. A generally annular indicator member positioned adjacent to the opening releassably engages the end members. Upon couplings of the male and female elements of the quick connector, the indicator member is separated from the leg members to provide visual conformation that coupling has taken place.

  • Publication number: 20020049741
Abstract: A system for presenting hypermedia link information. A computer-implemented method for presenting hypermedia link information is described which relates to the user the characteristics of a data file pointed to by the hypermedia link. The computer system waits for an event to occur. This event is the user or system selecting one or more hypermedia links. The hypermedia link in this scenario points to a data file about which information is to be gathered. The computer system then requests information about the data file. Finally, an auditory cue is generated to communicate information about said data file to a user. Alternatively, this information may be conveyed to the user by visual means, such as a pop-up information box on the user's display. A powerful and convenient system for browsing hypermedia information is thus provided.

  • Patent number: 7926060
Abstract: A computing system that includes a number of processing elements, a memory and a multi-task controller. In one embodiment, the path between the resource manager and the processing elements is the same for all processing elements. In another embodiment, the data path is different between different processing elements. A processing element receives a request via a strobe signal and data on a path between the resource manager and the processing element and reports status on the data path via a different strobe signal. The request to the processing element may specify floating point computations, as well as sorting operations. The processing element can use an auxiliary memory to aid in the sorting operations. Push and pop functions are processed by the processing element to facilitate the loading of multiple data operands in the processing element.

  • Patent number: 5137307
Abstract: A one piece molded combination retaining housing and tee, and a one piece molded combination retaining housing and 90.degree. elbow, for new installations of lawn watering systems, and a separate retaining housing for use with conventional tees and 90.degree. elbows in existing or new installations of lawn watering systems, to eliminate foreign matter from entering into the underground water piping system when a pop-up head is removed for repair or replacement. Adapters, to increase the height of the retaining housings, and retaining housing caps to allow standardization of the retaining housings of these three parts are also a part of the invention. All parts would be made of PVC today, but the material would not be limited to PVC.

  • Publication number: 20180295063
Abstract: Automated steady state traffic management is provided for a distributed platform through immediate or real-time simulation of the capacity and performance impacts associated with shifting different load increments to different Points-of-presence (PoPs) of the distributed platform and by automatic and dynamic traffic management reconfiguration in response to an optimal set of changes identified from the simulation. A system produces data models to track the current distributed platform state and detect deviates from the steady state. Using the data models and scoring functions, the system scores the impact that different shifts of load to different destinations have on the overall distributed platform. The scoring reveals the optimal set of traffic management configuration changes that restore the steady state with the least capacity and performance impact.

Abstract: Several ways are provided for a viewer of a movie to create a deep tag, that is, a bookmark for a segment of the movie. The deep tag can be associated with descriptive text and sent to an address provided by the viewer, either an e-mail address or an instant messaging address. Additionally, before the deep tag is created, it can be checked whether the content owner of the movie is known. If known, the content owner's rules, if any, regarding deep tagging are followed. If unknown, a set of registered content owners can be alerted of the presence of new content. When ownership of the new content is established, the already-created deep tags can be updated in accordance with the content owner's rules, if any, regarding deep tagging.

  • Patent number: 5456500
Abstract: An insertion indicator employed in conjunction with a quick connector assembly includes a base member carried within a female housing, two or more leg members extending axially from the base member and terminating adjacent an axial housing opening. A generally annular indicator member is disposed substantially within the housing opening and releasably engages the ends of the leg members. Means are provided to axially displace the base member upon engagement of the male and female elements to effect separation of the base and indicator members. Guide and limiting means are provided to ensure proper orientation of the indicator device relative to the quick connector before and during coupling of the male and female elements.

  • Patent number: 5121477
Abstract: Customized screens are generated in accordance with the invention for interfacing with an application program in an information processing system. During a panel definition phase when a panel designer creates a customized panel, panel actions are selected from a default list of panel operations and commands, including searching, adding, changing or deleting data from a database, showing long fields, blanking out a panel, displaying a prior panel, and printing. The actions are specified in a pop-up window during panel definition. Mnemonics and function keys may be specified for each action. The invention dynamically creates pull-down windows based on the actions specified which become part of the panel interface available to the run time user from an application action bar. Users may select actions to interact with the panel in like manner to interaction with other portions of the application user interface by means of cursor selection, input of the action number, mnemonics, or activation of a function key.
