Abstract: A connection recovery apparatus for placing a dynamic connection of a dynamic switch of a computer I/O system in a known state upon the detection of a possible switching error. The I/O system includes transmitting stations each having a link-level facility attached by a link to a dynamic-switch port of a dynamic-switch. The dynamic-switch makes dynamic connections between any two of the stations. Upon the detection of a possible switching error, the detecting link-level facility of a station or its attached dynamic-switch port starts a switch recovery procedure which places any dynamic connection to that station in a known disconnected state.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to compounds represented in Formula (I), pharmaceutical compositions comprising them and methods of treating of diseases or disorders such as cancer.
Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for training a hearing prosthesis to classify/categorize received sound signals as either including a recipient's own voice (i.e., the voice or speech of the recipient of the hearing prosthesis) or external voice (i.e., the voice or speech of one or more persons other than the recipient). The techniques presented herein use the captured voice (speech) of the recipient to train the hearing prosthesis to perform the classification of the sound signals as including the recipient's own voice or external voice.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for protecting BIOS stored on a direct access storage device into a personnal computer system. The personal computer system comprises a system processor, a system planar, a random access main memory, a read only memory, a protection means and at least one direct access storage device. The read only memory includes a first portion of BIOS and data representing the type of system processor and system planar I/O configuration. The first portion of BIOS initializes the system and the direct access storage device, and resets the protection means in order to read in a master boot record into the random access memory from a protectable partition on the direct access storage device.

Abstract: A method for rendering or compositing image components, where at least one of the image components has an edge. The edge is rendered or composited a plurality of times, the repetitions being performed with different values of the edge thickness (i.e., the thickness of the line) and with different opacities. This makes it possible to create in this way an opacity gradient or the like, so that the edge may be given a softer and less abrupt appearance, if such is desired.

Abstract: A fluid processing assembly can be easily inserted into and removed from a rotatable centrifuge channel. The processing assembly comprises a processing container and a carrier. The processing container has flexibility and, in use, occupies the channel to receive fluids for separation in the centrifugal field. The carrier retains the processing container outside the channel in a flexed condition conforming to the channel. The carrier resists deformation of the processing container during its insertion into or removal from the channel.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for deinterleaving differential inverse multiplexed (DIM) virtual channels in a 40G Ethernet receiver. The method accepts a 10.3125 gigabits per second (Gbps) (10G) Ethernet virtual channel with 64B/86B blocks, including periodic Lane Alignment Marker (LAM) blocks. The 10G virtual channel is deinterleaved into two 5.15625 Gbps (5G) virtual channels by: 1) deinterleaving consecutive blocks from the 10G virtual channel into the 5G virtual channels in an alternating order, and 2) reversing the order of deinterleaving in response to each detected LAM block. Then, the method supplies the 5G virtual channels (i.e. to a MAC module).
