Abstract: A positive locking mechanism on a shift coupler for a vehicle transmission. The locking mechanism includes a locking ring on the clutch collar. A sleeve is formed with radial openings for receiving balls which lock the clutch sleeve and clutch hub in the shifted position and retaining this position until manually released.
Abstract: An engine balancer for a four cylinder in-line internal combustion engine. The balancer is mounted centrally under the crankshaft and driven by a drive gear adjacent the nodal point of torsional vibrations on the crankshaft. The balancer is for secondary forces on the engine and the drive reduces feed of torsional vibrations to the engine balancer from the crankshaft.
Abstract: A transmission speed range selector valve pressure biased to the high speed range position and spring biased toward the low speed range position. A detent mechanism for retaining the valve in the low speed range arrests the movement of the valve when the pressure of the pressure biasing fluid decreases allowing the spring to move the valve toward the low speed range and thereby downshift the transmission when fluid is throtted to the speed range selector valve.
Abstract: A hydraulic draft control system for use on a tractor and having a pilot valve regulating flow and pressure for automatically operating a draft control valve. The pilot valve opens and closes in response to draft loads sensed on the tractor to control the opening and closing of the control valve for raising and lowering of an implement on the tractor.
Abstract: A vehicle seat suspension for isolating vertical ride vibrations at low frequencies normally found in larger tractors or other vehicles, and to do this without penalty of large static deflection normally required to obtain similar isolation in the typical mass-spring damper isolation suspension system.
Abstract: A hand throttle and foot accelerator control with sound attenuating drive means extending through the firewall for operating the engine throttle.
Abstract: A selectively adjustable means for positioning a shift fork on a shift rail. The adjustable means correlates the shift fork with a shift lever position and assures full engagement of the clutch teeth when the lever is shifted. Positive detent mechanism will assure the transmission will not jump out of gear while coasting or driving under load.
Abstract: A mechanical detent release for a power shift transmission selector valve operating through a mechanical linkage connected to the clutch pedal operating the inching valve. The mechanical detent releases in response to a spring in the transmission selector valve spool engaging a cam on the clutch pedal of the inching valve which permits the selector valve to return to the low speed position when the inching valve is operated.
Abstract: A device for replacing resilient isolators on the vehicle. The resilient isolators isolate the platform from the vehicle chassis and the device permits the operator to replace the isolators individually without assistance from another as a maintenance feature of the vehicle.

Abstract: A two-speed power take-off drive having interchangeable output shafts for selectively reciprocating a cammed shaft for biasing elements shifting a clutch collar for the two-speed operation.
Abstract: An intercooler mounted on the cylinder head with an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The intake manifold and cylinder head are adapted for fastening together for operation with or without the intercooler mounted between the manifold and the cylinder head. The use of a sandwich type intercooler arrangement permits use of standard components of the manifold or engine head with the optional use of the intercooler as a turbocharged engine or without as a naturally aspirated engine.
Abstract: A hydraulic detent release for a power shift transmission selector valve which releases the detent with decay of fluid pressure in the valve. The hydraulic detent releases in response to pressure decay in an inching valve which causes the selector valve to return to the low speed position when the inching valve is operated.
Abstract: A relieve valve in a hydraulically operated clutch for the residual pressure caused by centrifugal force on the hydraulic fluid tending to produce limited engagement of the clutch.

Abstract: An extendible and pivotal steering column for a vehicle having a wedge lock extension mechanism for providing an extension and pivotal arrangement of the upper end of the steering column pivotally mounted within the operator station of the vehicle.
Abstract: A bushing type bearing having bearing shells with fillet radii mating or slightly smaller than the fillet radii of the crankpin or piston pin to increase effective bearing surfaces for carrying greater bearing loads.
Abstract: A pressure biased control valve holding the valve in the actuated position against the force of a return spring operating in connection with a linkage having a separate return spring and a loss motion connection to allow the valve and linkage to operate independently to the return position and assure the pressurized fluid in the valve maintains the valve in the actuating position regardless of pressure changes in the hydraulic system.
Abstract: A multiple speed countershaft transmission with a transfer gear drive driven by one of the countershaft gearsets having a gear on the output shaft driving at the output shaft speed to provide an auxiliary power takeoff from the transmission.
Abstract: A fuel tank resiliently mounted on a vehicle chassis to reduce vibrations of the tank and the noise level at the operator station on the vehicle. The mounting structure for the tank includes brackets connected both to the tank and chassis each providing horizontal and vertical flanges. Resilient isolators are mounted between the horizontal flanges to support the weight of the tank, and resilient isolators are mounted between the vertical flanges to dampen transverse vibrations of the tank.
