  • Patent number: 4607979
Abstract: A material spreader for spreading large rock over a wet concrete or other surface utilizes a pair of hoppers which are driven back and forth on a bridge support spanning the surface. A gasoline engine mounts above the hoppers and furnishes power for a reversibly-controllable hydraulic hopper drive motor. The rock is dispensed by a rough-surfaced hydraulically motor driven cylinder with the discharge opening being controlled by a pair of spring-loaded gates which position themselves in response to the size rock being spread and the direction of travel of the spreader.

  • Patent number: 4606549
Abstract: An automatic trailer hitch assembly mounts a shank unit on the trailer and a receiving unit on the towing vehicle. The shank unit provides an elongated shank member which mounts a trailer ball at one end coupled to a conventional trailer hitch ball socket housing secured to the trailer and at the opposite end is formed to slide on funnel-like guide passages into the receiving unit. A leveler assembly is mounted on the trailing end of the shank unit, releasably grasps the ball socket housing utilizing unsupported weight of the shank unit to establishing the grasping force and retains the shank unit properly positioned for coupling. The leveler assembly automatically releases as the shank unit enters or becomes fully coupled to the receiving unit.

  • Patent number: 4603789
Abstract: An outlet box (the term "outlet box" is also intended to encompass a junction box) mounting bracket useful for mounting an outlet box has slots to accept the shanks of outlet box mounting screws to eliminate the necessity of removing the screws when assembling the outlet box to one side of the bracket and a dry wall ring to the opposite side of the bracket. The bracket has an L-shape with right angled plate portions at one end, one of which plate portions is adapted to serve as a stiffening arm between the walls. At the opposite end, another flat plate portion is adapted to be secured to an extension plate in turn secured to a stud. In one embodiment, a recessed plate portion between the ends of the bracket contains the mentioned slots around an opening which registers with the interior chamber of the box and brings the outer surface of a dry wall ring in the same plane as the front outermost plane of the bracket.
