Abstract: A pendulum action cultivating hoe utilizes an elongated handle on the lower end of which is mounted a vertically inverted U-shaped support frame. The support frame pivotally mounts a second upright vertically positioned U-shaped blade frame having a blade portion which is drawn back and forth through the soil to be cultivated and whose motion is limited by a rod member mounted between the side arms of the frames.
Abstract: Cable splitters of the type used to split television (TV) and frequency modulated (FM) signals are modified to incorporate local electrical grounding means and are standardized in size and made adaptable for mounting in a standard weather protective housing so as to eliminate the need for separate local grounding blocks and the usual haphazard mounting of ground blocks, multiple cable splitters and jumper wires found in conventional non-standardized cable installations thereby providing a standardized signal splitter-ground module and housing therefor.

Abstract: In a TIG welding process with controlled welding current pulses, DC current pulses with the frequency set at from tens to hundreds Hz (most preferably from 30 to 300 Hz) are fed to an electrode and current pulses are also fed to a filler wire so that an arc is caused to swing, whereby a large pool of molten metal can be maintained in a positive and stable manner due to the high arc pressure obtained when the welding current pulses at from tens to hundreds Hz is used.
Abstract: An improved traction device for assisting vehicles when stuck in sand, snow, bog, or the like, incorporates a rigid plate having opposed upper and lower gripping ribs and an appended chain structure having transverse angle iron pieces spaced lengthwise thereof.
Abstract: A preformed laminate structure for repairing and patching damaged areas of drywalls is adapted to be cemented thereto and comprises a backing member made from thin sheet material and sufficiently large to cover the area to be repaired and a facing member cemented to the backing member and also made of thin sheet material of the same shape but of less size than the size of the backing member.
Abstract: An improved frame construction for a portable, vibrating-type concrete screed incorporates a specially designed hollow ridge tube extending along the apex of an elongated open frame of triangular cross section and providing means for adjusting relative angular positions of adjoining screed units and for passage of air when the screed is air operated.
Abstract: A fuel injection diesel engine is equipped with auxiliary apparatus which utilizes the engine coolant and the coolant temperature control as well as an auxiliary temperature control for preheating the diesel fuel prior to injection to increase fuel efficiency.
Abstract: A cyclone type particle separator comprising a lower cone with a particle outlet, an intermediate cylinder and an upper truncated cone. An inlet is opened at the intermediate cylinder tangentially or involutedly thereof and adjacent to the upper end of the lower cone so that the particle-laden gas can freely spiral upward in the intermediate cylinder and the upper truncated cone while the particles separated drop into the lower cone. The top wall of the upper truncated cone is spaced apart from the inlet by a suitable distance, and upper particle trapping chambers are extended tangentially and outwardly from the upper truncated cone and is contiguous with the top wall so that the particles separated in the upper truncated cone adjacent to the top wall thereof can be trapped and collected in the upper trapping chambers.
Abstract: An electrically powered school bus signapparatus mounts on the school bus body. A unidirectional DC motor and associated linkage and limit switch controls are used to deploy and retract the stop sign blade.
Abstract: A vibrating concrete screed having a motor driven vibrating shaft in an elongated frame mounts at each end of a single or interconnected plural frames a detachable winching unit driven by the shaft through a fluid motor. The screed may be winched automatically, at varying angles, at different speeds at each end and with the winching units performing a screeding function.
Abstract: A collapsible, portable dental chair is designed for transport by a dentist from one examination site to another and particularly for rural area and school use. The chair comprises a patient receiving platform and associated headrest and a base and back support frame. The chair components are releasably fitted together to provide a patient chair which can be easily dismantled and folded at one examining site for transport to another examining site or for storage.
Abstract: A wood routing machine accepts a length of wood stock, e.g., a length of preformed crown molding, and thereafter in automatic sequence clamps the wood stock at lengthwise spaced locations, routs evenly spaced notches along the length of the stock and after each router operation automatically unclamps and indexes the stock a predetermined distance, again clamps the stock and repeats the router operation sequence until the entire length of stock has been notched to form a length of dental block type wood molding.
Abstract: A mounting structure secures to a selected portion of the human body, e.g., the head, a limb, or the torso, and incorporates light source and light detecting means adapted for association with spectrophotometric circuitry for in situ, in vivo monitoring of local metabolism in the area of the body where the structure is secured.

Abstract: A heat cycling apparatus and method is provided for heating at least two chambers utilizing a pressurized heat source. The heated air is directed first to one chamber and then to the other on a predetermined repetitive time cycle.
Abstract: A motor powered rotary trowel employs a plurality of radially arranged trowel blades which can be adjustably tilted on their support arms in either direction and are mounted on a drive shaft which can be driven in either direction thereby enabling the weight of the trowel to be selectively supported on the edges on one side or the other of the trowel blades. In an alternative embodiment, selected parts of the trowel are arranged to fold to facilitate transport.
Abstract: An apparatus, particularly adapted for use as a toy, advances itself in steps over a ferromagnetic surface utilizing a mechanically actuated structure on which relatively movable permanent magnets and magnet shields are mounted.
Abstract: Disclosed is an oil seal device using oil seal rings and a centrifugal oil thrower and having a construction such that the oil seal rings are provided on each side of the oil thrower to minimize the amount of oil that leaks to the oil thrower.
