  • Patent number: 6629106
Abstract: The invention is a common event monitoring, fusion and reasoning framework that integrates horizontally into many different application domain areas. The system includes a monitor for detecting occurrences of predetermined events from a monitored system, providing data in response to the occurrence and processing the data as a data relation in a database. Predetermined events are recorded in a database using an event pattern language that defines and compiles events in terms of first order logic over a universe of events. The language provides common patterns that allow event patterns (i.e., event rules and relations) to be specified by the client dynamically. These specified event patterns are then compiled into the database. The compiled code automatically triggers responses when specific event patterns are stored in the database. After compilation, additional event patterns may be recognized dynamically by formulating queries into the database using a standard query language such as SQL.

  • Patent number: 6588246
Abstract: A rivet tool/rivet nut tool/rivet bolt tool with a freely-rotatable and finely-adjustable head has a handle pivotally connected to a lever and a swivel head rotatably connected to the handle. The swivel head can be finely-adjusted by use of a [steering] gear and a slidable gear lock. The slidable gear lock has an inverted V top with a tip to mesh with the gear by the recovery force of a spring, whereby the swivel head can be finely-adjusted and whenever the swivel head is rotated, a clicking sound is made to inform a user. The back-and-forth movement of the slidable gear lock can be as a complement to the tip of the slidable gear lock and teeth of the gear to prolong the operation life of the slidable gear lock, steering gear and the rivet tool/rivet nut tool/rivet bolt tool.

  • Patent number: 6568303
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cutting rings from ring forgings of titanium or related materials is described. The ring forging is gripped and rotated about its centerline in a centering chuck. A tool holder is mounted parallel to and spaced from the centerline of the forging. The displacement of the tool holder is controlled both along and perpendicular to the centerline. First and second cutter bars having first and second cutter bits are mounted to the tool holder. The first cutter bar is mounted so that it may be moved along a diameter of the ring forging with the second cutter bar moving along a line parallel to, coplanar with and spaced from this diameter. The second cutter bit is wider than the first cutter bit. The second cutter bit widens the cut made by the first cutter bit, thereby providing chip clearance and cooling for the ring being cut.

  • Patent number: 6550082
Abstract: An adjustable co-sleeper nest is described. The invention, in a first embodiment, comprises a baby crib having a removable front wall and four supporting rails attached to the back and side walls of the crib structure. A platform having a back wall, first and second side walls, and a reduced height front wall formed of flexible material is adjustably suspended from the supporting rails. A mattress pad is supported upon the platform structure within the walls of the platform. The platform and mattress pad extend beyond the side walls of the crib for a predetermined distance so that the mattress will fit snugly against the edge of a parental bed. Devices are provided for adjusting and securing the height of the co-sleeper platform. Straps are provided for securing the crib to the side of the parental bed. In a second embodiment, the co-sleeper nest is free-standing within an existing crib, bearing against the rear wall of the crib.

  • Patent number: 6543069
Abstract: An extendible dish drain rack comprising a plurality of bases designed to assemble in a particular sequence; the front of the second and each subsequent base designed to overlap the rear of the preceding base with a short overlap. A lip for overlapping a sink is provided at the front of the first. A first fastener is located at the front of each second and subsequent base. A second fastener is located at each rear. The fasteners are designed to mate with each other, prevent slippage and allow for disassembly of the bases. Each base also incorporates a device for inclining the bases. This creates an angle of inclination in the assembly sufficient to efficiently drain water. There are typical supports for supporting dishes in a water draining configuration on the top surface of each base. Preferably the device for inclining the bases is a foot or leg located under the rear of each base. Preferably one fastener is a slot and the second fastener is a tab which loosely fit to each other.

  • Patent number: 6516480
Abstract: A system for producing adjustable articulated beds. These beds use measurements taken from a particular human form applied to the bed construction. All beds made using this system have the following in common: a standard distance of four inches from the top of the intended user's head to the head end of the mattress; a mattress that increases in length as the bed is articulated upward and decreases in length when returning to supine position thus matching the change that occurs to the posterior length of the user with no slippage; standardized articulating mechanisms, to articulate the thighs and legs plus and increases the length of the thigh supporting sections when articulated upward, thus matching the movement of the human form; and standardized orbiculators to articulate the torso.
