Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing CAN communication for building automation systems are disclosed. An exemplary system may comprise at least one sending device linked to a plurality of receiving devices over a CAN automation network. A control frame may be broadcast over the CAN automation network by the at least one sending device, the control frame encapsulated into a CAN extended data frame. An acceptance filter may be provided at each of the plurality of receiving devices, each of the plurality of receiving devices reading the control frame from the CAN extended data frame and determining if the receiving device is a target device based on the control frame. Device communication may also be implemented as methods for dynamic address assignment and firmware download.

Abstract: The cooking appliance (1) having a control panel (2) is equipped with one or more gas flow (Q) regulating valves, wherein the rotary regulating plug (6) is provided with various peripheral through holes (16-19). The control knob (9) being interchangeable for fitting to the actuating shaft (7), is chosen from the two units available, one and the other permitting different angular limit positions of the regulating plug (6) for the supply of a constant minimum gas flow Qmin, adjusted each one for a different type of gas N gas or LP gas. The outlet conduit (5) of the valve is equipped with a further injector nozzle (21,23) for adjusting a constant gas flow Qmax to be fed into the conduit (25) of the correspondent burner, when the cooking appliance is supplied with a LP gas.

Abstract: A device to determine the contrast sensitivity of an individual's visual system by means of a series of tests in a measurement session, comprising a means for producing real time digital images, corresponding to modulated visual stimuli; and a display means for presenting said images to an individual's eye, wherein said stimuli may be modulated around an average stimulus in any direction of the color space and may be configured in their spatial and temporal characteristics for each measurement session. Said stimuli are usually chosen in the cardinal directions of the color space and respond to a sinusoidal grid pattern with spatial and temporal modulation, and with a two dimensional gaussian envelope.

Abstract: “Control system for a gas cooking device or any other gas device comprising at least one gas burner (1) and, for each gas burner (1), an electromagnetic valve (2) to open or cut off the gas flow to the gas burner (1), said electromagnetic valve (2) comprising magnetic means (10, 11, 12) to keep the gas flow open, and an actuator (3) that is operated manually so that it acts on the magnetic means (10, 11, 12) of the electromagnetic valve (2), thereby opening the gas flow. The control system (20) generates a current signal (I) that circulates through the magnetic means (10, 11, 12) of the electromagnetic valve (2) and detects when the actuator (3) is operated in accordance with the change in magnetic reluctance of said magnetic means (10, 11, 12).

Abstract: A method for managing multicast traffic in a data network, and devices using said method. The hosts store for each multicast group an included source record and an excluded source record, and the network interfaces of the hosts send to the router a message containing information about the included source record and information about the excluded source record. The router also stores for each multicast group an included source record and an excluded source record, and updates them when it receives through its network interface a message from the hosts containing information about an included source list and/or information about an excluded source list. The devices are a router, host equipment and network equipment compatible with the method.
Abstract: Gas manifold (1) for a cooking device that includes a distributor conduit (2) of a gas flow (Q) formed by a cylindrical pipe of a certain uniform diameter (D1) fitted with a plurality of regulation taps (3), and that is provided with a manually operated emergency tap (4) at the gas inlet, with a cut-off valve (10) disposed in parallel in relation to the distributor conduit (2), in which a seal device (13) of the passage of the flow (Q) is intercalated in the interior of the conduit (2) between an inlet (8) and an outlet (9) of the emergency tap (4), as a result of which all the flow (Q) is diverted to the emergency tap (4), thereby bypassing the seal device (13). The sealing of the distributor conduit (2) is made by means of a circular disc (14) and a ring sealing gasket (15).
Abstract: A switch for a domestic appliance, such as a cooking range, that includes a radiation emitter, an auxiliary radiation emitter and a radiation receiver, the radiation receiver adapted to receive at least part of the radiation emitted from the radiation emitter and auxiliary radiation emitter and to generate one or more reception signals whose values depend on the radiation received. A controller associated with the switch generates a periodic control pulse (Pc) at a first time interval to cause the radiation emitter to emit radiation for a duration of time and a periodic test pulse (Pt) at a second time interval different than the first time interval to cause the auxiliary radiation emitter to emit radiation for a duration of time. The controller configured to evaluate the one or more reception signals to determine if an error or malfunction exists in the switch.

Abstract: A preparation process of aromatic ketones by a Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction in an ionic liquid of formula (I), in the absence of any other catalyst and/or solvent. In formula (I), [Q]+ is selected from substituted-imidazolium cations, substituted-pyridinium cations, ammonium cations, and phosponium cations. It allows to carry out Friedel-Crafts acylations with good yields and high selectivity in para position of the Friedel-Crafts aromatic substrate without using chlorine-containing solvents and conventional Friedel-Crafts catalysts. It is industrially useful because provides a “Green Chemistry” technology for carrying out Friedel-Crafts acylations of general aplicability.
