Abstract: A mixture of alcohol, such as methanol, and organic oxygenate, such as dimethyl carbonate, is treated to recover product of decreased methanol content by pervaporation across a composite membrane of a polyvinyl alcohol and a polyacrylic acid on a polyacrylonitrile support layer.
