  • Patent number: 3968781
Abstract: A fuel atomizing device for carburetors of internal combustion engines having an annular holder adapted to be fitted inside the carburetor which supports a plurality of axially-parallel nozzles in the path of the air-fuel mixture passing the carburetor. The jet holder supports a plate therebeneath on which a plurality of upwardly opening knife-edged cups are disposed coaxially with each of the nozzles and in spaced relationship thereto so that the air-fuel mixture passing through the nozzles passes into and out of each cup as the mixture passes through to the engine manifold.

  • Patent number: 3964125
Abstract: An electromagnetic door holding device for a door closer of the type having a spring operated rotating spindle operatively connected by an arm to a slider mounted for reciprocal movement in a track usually secured to the door frame wherein the slider has a cam which when the door is swung to a fully opened position engages and is held by an electromagnet against movement relative to the slider when the door attempts to return to a closed position and which engages and moves a detent carried by the slider into engagement with detent engaging means in the track so as to prevent movement of the slider relative to the track and thus releaseably hold the door in the open position. The energizing of the electromagnet allows the spring to move the cam out of engagement with the detent and thus permit the slider to move and enable the door to move to a closed position.

  • Patent number: 3961548
Abstract: Guide apparatus for a rotary saw having a circular saw blade freely moveable longitudinally of an arbor which includes a pair of guide plates mounted in a frame on opposite sides of and parallel to the saw blade and adapted to be adjustably positioned longitudinally of the arbor. Each of the plates have a plurality of spiral grooves formed in its face. The grooves have open loading ends, relative to direction of rotation of the saw, opening out of edges of the guide plate so that rotation of the saw blade induces a flow of air into the grooves. The grooves are effectively closed at trailing ends so as to develop air cushions between the saw blade and the guide faces and thus stabilize the saw blade between the guide plates. Means is also provided for introducing a lubricating liquid into the open ends of the grooves.

  • Patent number: 3951216
Abstract: Feed frame assembly for supporting and feeding drill head which rotates drill rod about axis. Assembly includes spaced front and rear end members, laterally spaced longitudinal members and first and second hydraulic feed cylinders. Longitudinal members and feed cylinders extend between end members and are parallel to rod axis. Piston rods of feed cylinders have double-acting pistons cooperating with cylinder bodies to feed head along the piston rods. Stabilizer cylinders in longitudinal members force bearing pads against rock face to counteract the drilling forces. Head mounting means secures rigidly one side of drill head to first cylinder body, and secures releasably with latch opposite side of head to second cylinder body. When latch is released drill head can swing outwards about first piston rod, and when engaged mutual actuation of feed cylinders moves drill head along rods. With head swung out, first cylinder is hydraulically locked to divert fluid to second cylinder.

  • Patent number: 3946634
Abstract: Strain mechanism for bandmill using deadweight lever mechanism in which undesirable effects of inertia of counterweight and friction at knife edges are reduced. Rolling diaphragm air cylinder is used in one of three positions. In first position cylinder extends between arbor carrier arm and plunger tube and supplies portion of saw strain permitting lighter counterweight. In second position it extends between counterweight arm and plunger tube and eliminates counterweights. In third position counterweight is supported on counterweight arm by yoke supported by cylinder which resiliently mounts weight.

  • Patent number: 3945440
Abstract: The fire extinguishing apparatus for oxy-acetylene welding assemblies having a cylinder having a free floating piston, over the actuator of a release valve, mountable at one end of a pressurized bottle containing a fire extinguishing fluid and connectable at its opposite end to an oxygen return line and a valve assembly connectable between the oxygen line and the torch, the valve assembly has a through passage for enabling passage of oxygen from the oxygen line to the torch and an intersecting passage having a manually operated shut-off valve intersecting the through passage at one end and having means at its opposite end for connection to the oxygen return line to the bottle of extinguishing fluid for enabling pressurized oxygen to flow to the cylinder and move the piston into operating engagement with the actuator of the release valve so as to release the fire extinguishing fluid therefrom. A discharge hose is extended from the fire extinguishing fluid bottle to the operator of the welding torch.

  • Patent number: 3940867
Abstract: An intake guidance valve for connection to an intake opening of a fish pump having a frusto-concial shield open at its small end and at its base. A conical deflector is mounted on and axially of the shield in a plurality of vanes which extend at an end beyond the base of the shield and at their other ends towards but short of the apex of the deflector so as to provide a plurality of upwardly tapering guidance passages. An annular flange projects radially from the base of the deflector so that water and fish are drawn radially into the guidance passages.

  • Patent number: 3938772
Abstract: Folding display easel for supporting documents for easy viewing. Easel has a center panel with upper and lower flanges, two inner panels slidingly engaging the flanges, and two outer panels hinged to outer edges of respective inner panels. Inner panels engage track means on flanges of center panel and are supported so that inner panels are spaced laterally from each other and from the center panel to permit the five panels to be stacked together without interference between adjacent panels. One leg hinged to rear of center panel, when extended supports the easel erected, and when folded serves also as handle. When extended outer panels are inclined obliquely to inner panels for easy viewing. Latch means holds panels together for carrying.
