Abstract: The invention features a method for preparing a high-density functional slide by coating a sol-gel containing amine-group bearing silanes and a solution containing polyaldehyde groups onto an organic or inorganic substrate, respectively. The resulting slide is useful in the preparation of highly homogeneous functional-group slides and the high-density and high-efficiency bio-chip/microarray.

Abstract: An illuminating and sounding ball includes a translucent solid first hemisphere, an opaque second hemisphere combined with the translucent solid first hemisphere to become a ball. The opaque second hemisphere has a chamber defined therein. An illuminating and sounding device is received in the chamber to illuminate and sound when the ball is bouncing. A background index paper is placed on top of the illuminating and sounding device. A 3D toy is received in the chamber and placed on top of the background index paper.

The lid (30) is able to be selectively opened or closed to make the operation such as cell injection convenient. An electronic signal device containing a mult-operational system is applied to the culture chamber to maintain the living circumstance steady for the cells, so that the cultured cells can live long on the microscope stage and be observed and cultured at the same time.

Abstract: A scraper includes a primary jaw having a first top edge, and a secondary jaw having a second top edge and a bottom tail. The top edges of the jaws are normally opposite to each other. The secondary jaw is connected to the primary jaw between the second top edge and the bottom tail in a relationship of being movable and slightly rotatable with respect to the primary jaw. A wheel screw is threaded engaged with the primary jaw and adapted to move the bottom tail of the secondary jaw away from the primary jaw. Therefore, a blade may be held tightly between the top edges of the jaws when the wheel screw is tightened.

Abstract: This is related to a method for the manufacture of a capacitor with wing extensions and the capacitor device. The method comprises: (1) causing multiple contact areas to be disposed in alternate positions, such that two adjacent contact areas are complements of each other, (2) depositing electroplating base material (EBM) over the contact area, (3) electroplating a conductive material on the sidewalls of the EBM slab to form plate electrode; and then (4) etching back the EBM leaving only the electrode portion. The capacitor formed by the above method has a larger surface area on the electrode compared with that made by the conventional method, and the cell capacitance is also better. This method is especially effective for the manufacture of high-density memory device.

Abstract: An electrical connector for electrically connecting a CPU to a main board includes a base covered with a cover. The cover has a periphery defining an indentation therein and is formed with two pairs of tabs extending towards the base. The cover and the base are connected in a manner of allowing the cover to be movable on the base. A rotor is situated between the cover and the base near the periphery of the cover. The rotor has a middle portion and a pair of radial cams. The middle portion is provided with a slot and positioned in the indentation of the cover, and the cams have a profile designed to engage with the tabs of the cover. Therefore, the cover can be moved relative to the base when the rotor is turned by any tool extending into the slot of the middle portion.

Abstract: The present invention provides orally administered pharmaceutical compositions which contains an effective amount of free base or pharmaceutcially acceptable salts of nalbuphine and/or nalbuphine ester, an oily substance, and a solubility-assisting agent. The oily substance is preferably sesame oil. The solubility-assisting agent is preferably benzyl benzoate. The pharmaceutical composition is useful as an analgesic. The compositions achieves a much higher bioavailability rate and yields much longer lasting effects on nalbuphine than other nalbuphine products currently in the market.

Abstract: A reel is composed of a base having therein a recess, a seat formed on a bottom face defining the recess so as to position a rotation disk thereon, an opening defined in a side face defining the recess to communicate with the recess and for oppositely receiving two rollers, and a gap defined to communicate with the opening. The rotation disk has a first disk and a second disk securely connected to the first disk by means of a connection shaft. Abstract: A cooling fan with a light-emitting device has a frame, multiple light-emitting diodes (LEDs), a circuit board, a stator, permanent magnets and an impeller. The permanent magnets are formed around the inside-perimeter of the casing of the impeller. The impeller is rotated by the interaction force between the poles of the electro-magnetized stator and the poles of the permanent magnets in the impeller. The rotational speed of the impeller is controlled by the drive circuitry on the circuit board. Each LED projects light towards the impeller and to the frame so the light will reflects and bounces all over the fan to produce a fantastic visual effect. The LEDs can be made to twinkle based on the rotational speed of the fan to increase the visual attractiveness.

Abstract: A controlled-release pharmaceutical preparation containing an oil suspension which comprises an analgesic and an injectable oil. The analgesic is either a nalbuphine free base or a pharmaceutical salt of nalbuphine such as nalbuphine HCl. The injectable oil is preferably sesame oil. The oil suspension contains microparticles in the size range of 1 to 100 &mgr;m, preferably less than 50 &mgr;m, which is produced by treating the analgesic and injectable oil in an ultra high energy mixing equipment. The controlled-release preparation permits nalbuphine free base or nalbuphine HCl to have a longer duration of action in relieving pain, and allows the administration of lower doses. A process for preparing the injectable oil suspension is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention provides novel pharmaceutical compositions for azole antimicrobial drugs such as itraconazole, saperconazole, ketoconazole, and fluconazole. The pharmaceutical compositions are in the form of pellets which comprise a core and a drug emulsion layer, and optionally, a protective layer. The drug emulsion layer contains the azole antimicrobial drug, an emulsifier, a binder, and an absorbent aid. The preferred emulsifier is vitamin E polyethylene glycol succinate. The preferred binder is hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. The preferred absorbent aid is DL malic acid. The drug is dissolved in organic solvents. The preferred organic solvents are ethanol and methylene chloride. The protective layer contains polyethylene glycol (PEG) 20,000, which is coated on the drug emulsion layer.
