Abstract: A diamond with molybdenum bonded or linked thereto comprises a diamond structure subjected to a pre-sputtering process by causing gaseous ions to impinge on a selected portion of its surface, and molybdenum bonded to said diamond structure, which has been subjected to said pre-sputtering process, by a sputtering process, forming a molybdenum film of 10 to 50 A in thickness bonded or linked with the diamond and which cannot be dissolved with hydrogen peroxide. The diamond may be in the shape of a record stylus which has been soldered to a stylus holder by coating the molybdenum film with copper, or other metal suitable for cementing by solder.
Abstract: This invention relates to a safe cartridge for gas and intends that, when the cartridge has been overheated and the inner pressure has abnormally risen, let an invisible crack open in a suitable area of the cartridge to escape the inner gas gradually to reduce the inner pressure, without gushing out a large quantity of the gas in a moment, as in usual rupture discs, to prevent the flying of the cartridge by the force of reaction.
Abstract: A blade in the fan wheel of a diagonal-flow fan, which blade should ideally have the contoured shape of a twisted double-curvature or undevelopable surface, is formed from a portion of a plate which has a flat planar surface. To develope the flat blade shape from a planar surface, lines of intersection between a plate and the streamsurfaces in the ideal fan wheel, which are represented by a number of coaxial imaginary conical surfaces, are used as a basis for design. The realized flat blade can then be orientated between the frustoconical main and side plates to form a diagonal-flow path similar in performance to the ideal blade of a twisted double-curvature surface.

Abstract: A weaving machine of the non-reciprocating continuous type comprises weft carriers which are advanced along the weft direction by impulses imparted by a series of rocking sinkers arranged along the weft direction. The impulses are applied by pivotal movement of successive sinkers in one direction, and during movement of each sinker in the reverse direction the sinker acts to beat-up the deposited weft. Pivotal movement of the sinkers is effected by an endless sinker control track which is driven continuously by an endless chain.
Abstract: A method for preparing biuret-structure polyisocyanates which comprises reacting 1,6-hexamethylenediisocyanate with water which is introduced into the reaction zone in the form of vapors in a mixture with air or an inert gas at a moisture content of said mixture of from 0.1 to 2.0 kg/kg and temperature of from 110.degree. to 130.degree. C. The reaction is carried out at a temperature ranging from 150.degree. to 170.degree. C.The polyisocyanates having biuret structure as produced by the method according to the present invention have a molecular mass of about 800, the content of isocyanate groups is as high as 23.59%. No polyurea is formed in the reaction. The process is single-staged, technologically simple and can be performed continuously.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for treating sheet material with liquid substances employing a squeegee for the application of ink or the like onto a sheet material by means of a screen. A side stop arrangement employing sealing plates for cooperating with the squeegee, laterally limits the amount of ink being applied to the material. The stop arrangement has at least one wall portion which is inclined with respect to the direction of motion of the screen and the sealing plate is adjusted so that the bottom surface of the plate is in a portion of an ink pool but spaced from a rotary printing screen so as to form a gap between the bottom surface of the sealing plate and the screen.
