Abstract: A curable powder resin composition comprising an aminoplast and a polyester or polyacrylic resin. The aminoplast is a condensate of a methylolurea or methylolaminotriazine with an aliphatic alcohol and a reactive compound containing at least one reactive group selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl and amide.

Abstract: The dielectric recording media comprise electroconductive substrates coated with dielectric resin binder. The process comprises dispersing an organophilic clay pigment in the dielectric resin binder and coating the electroconductive substrate with the dispersion. The organophilic clay pigment is obtained by treating calcined kaolin clay with an organotitanium compound.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an anti-migratory (as respects impregnated porous sheet members) phenol-formaldehyde resole resin in water emulsions. The emulsion is rendered anti-migratory (when impregnated into paper) through the addition thereto of an anti-migratory agent selected from the group consisting of polyelectrolytes, certain salts of inorganic acids, and combinations thereof. The composition is especially useful in the impregnation of filter paper.
Abstract: Warp textile sizes comprising interpolymers of vinyl esters are recovered by extraction of the interpolymer from woven cloth with an aqueous solvent to form an aqueous solution of the interpolymer. The interpolymmer is precipitated from the aqueous solution by adjusting the alkali metal ion concentration of the solution within defined limits and adding acid to reduce the pH to the range of 1 to 3. The precipitated polymer is isolated from the supernatant solution and is reused by dissolving it in an aqueous base to yield a sizing solution.
Abstract: A dielectric coating composition comprising an organophilic clay pigment dispersed in a dielectric resin binder. The organophilic clay binder is prepared by treatment of a kaolin clay with an organotitanium compound. Preferred binders include styrene interpolymers and poly(vinyl butyrals).
Abstract: Pressure-sensitive resin solutions containing an acid-epoxy self-curing interpolymer and 1,3-bis(dimethylamino)-2-hydroxypropane. The solutions exhibit improved viscosity stability and provide pressure-sensitive resin films with cohesive strength and low release values from silicone release paper.
