Abstract: Cog wheel vehicle system. A single track consists of a square beam having a pair of flanges. There is a row of holes in each flange. A vehicle rides on the track and has a cog wheel engaging the holes in the flange. A directional hydraulic motor is connected to drive the cog wheel. A hydraulic pump is connected to drive the motor. A gasoline engine is pivotally mounted on the vehicle and is connected to drive the pump.

Abstract: The conveyor device comprises rollers, located side-by-side at a distance apart, whereof the axes are located in one plane and which have the same diameter. The roller at one end can be driven by the rotating inlet roller of a printing unit and all the rollers are connected to each other in pairs and preferably by an endless toothed belt respectively, so that they are driven in synchronism with the conveying speed of the printing units. The tangential plane located on the upper side of all the rollers defines the plane in which the sheets are conveyed. Located between the rollers are stationary guide plates the surfaces of which are located in the conveying plane. Mounted above each roller are pressure rollers, which are each provided on their periphery with a rubber ring and which are pressed by springs against the rollers.This conveyor device for sheets to be installed between two printing units is particularly suitable for sheets having a small format, which are already cut to their final format.

Abstract: A system for injecting chemicals into a fire fighting system of the type using a plurality of water hoses and having a source of water and a source of chemicals. A servo motor system is connected to automatically meter a certain ratio of chemicals into the water supply. The servo motor system is responsive to the total flow to control the chemical pump to pump a certain ratio of chemicals into the water supply even if the total flow varies. Various modifications are disclosed.

Abstract: Scissor type device for releasing fluid from a segmented plastic tube into a container. A hinged member has first and second arms. A spur cutter is mounted on the first arm a predetermined distance from the hinge. The interior wall of the second arm is shaped to position the segmented tube so that it is cut by the cutter at a central point on the tubular member when the arms are squeezed together. A cam surface is positioned on one arm. The interior wall of the other arm is shaped so that the cam surface will squeeze the tube so that the contents of the tube may be squeezed out.

Abstract: Solar heating system. A solar connector. A double storage device connected to the collector to provide coolest possible heat transport medium at beginning of each day's collection and to control collector input temperature at minimum temperature and hence maximum collection efficiency. The first storage device has a capacity for approximately one days operation. The second storage device has a capacity for several days operation. The operation of the storage devices are controlled so that the first storage device is heated first and when the first storage device is heated sufficiently then the second storage device is heated. The operation of the storage devices are also controlled so that the first storage device is used first for heating and when the first storage device is depleted of useable heat then the second storage device is used.

Abstract: Means to provide additional electrical power in an electrically powered vehicle. An air scoop is mounted on the vehicle. The air scoop opens in a generally forward direction. A turbine wheel is mounted in the rear of the air scoop. An electric generator is connected to the turbine wheel, whereby air passing through the air scoop will generate additional electricity for the vehicle batteries. The air scoop is rotatable and means are provided to lock it in position.

Abstract: Single sideband modulation system. A first single sideband of radio frequency is generated with first audio modulation on the lower side of an assigned frequency, the first single sideband bandwidth being equal to the highest frequency of said first audio modulation. A second single sideband of radio frequency is generated with second audio modulation on the upper side of the assigned frequency, the second single sideband bandwidth being equal to the highest frequency of said second audio modulation. A first stereo channel is modulated on the lower sideband frequency. A second stereo channel is modulated on the upper sideband frequency. The stereo channels are combined whereby a receiver tuned to the assigned non-transmitted carrier frequency will receive both stereo channels.

Abstract: The invention is a control for boat trailers. A body member is clamped under the forward tongue of a boat type trailer. A folding member is pivotally mounted on the body member. A wheel holding means is rotatably mounted on the folding member. A pair of wheels are mounted on the wheel holding member. A handle is pivotally mounted on the body member. A connecting link member is pivotally connected to the handle at its upper end and pivotally connected to the folding member at its lower end. Provisions are provided so that a removable steering handle may be used on the wheel holding member.

Abstract: Coded lock for blood transfusion bags of the type having a locking flap. A pin extends through the locking flap of the bag. A numerically coded lock locks the pin through the flaps. A numerical code is set into the lock. The numerical code is attached to the patient's wrist. At the patient's location the nurse reads the code attached to the patient's wrist and opens the bag.

Abstract: A cape foldable into an enclosed handbag. A thin foldable one piece cape member has a pair of hand apertures in the sides. A pair of pockets are on the front of the cape member. A first zipper portion encircles one pocket. A second zipper portion encircles the other pocket. Whereby the cape may be folded into a package having one pocket on one side and the other pocket on the other side so that when the zipper portions around the pockets are joined and closed, the cape is completely enclosed between the pockets so that the package may be used as a handbag.

Abstract: Document detector and collector for detecting and collecting identifiable documents from a high speed stream of documents. A plurality of documents including identifiable documents are fed along a path. A detector detects the identifiable documents. A table is mounted above the document path to receive the identifiable documents. A first vacuum wheel responsive to the detector, removes the identifiable documents and feeds the removed documents to a second vacuum wheel. The second vacuum wheel delivers the documents to the delivery table.

Abstract: An ultrasonic waveguide provides the encoding of magnetic keys on a keyboard. The magnetic keys couple their respective magnetic fields to an ultrasonic waveguide producing signals in a given time relation to permit encoding by depressed keys. Since the necessary information appears essentially on two wires, the system is basically a very reliable solid state system where all basic signal processing takes place in an "integral" ultrasonic waveguide component. Potential simplicity, low cost construction, very high reliability, makes the application very suitable in keyboards for computers, data processing equipment, teletype equipment, computer time sharing stations, computerized reservation stations, display consoles, etc.

Abstract: A sealable wafer switch which is normally closed in relaxed position but which opens when squeezed. A lower stiff plate. A first curved conductive member mounted on the lower plate with the curvature extending in the upward direction. An insulating plate mounted on the lower curved plate the insulating plate having a central aperture. A second curved contact member mounted on the insulating plate and having its curvature extending in the downward direction with axis perpendicular to the other curved member. The first and second conductive members being in contact through the aperture when they are in relaxed position. An upper stiff plate mounted on the second curved contact member whereby when the upper and lower stiff plates are squeezed together the contact is broken.

Abstract: Self adhering tape switch or ribbon switch assembly is provided including a tape switch strip. A layer of deformable material bonds to the underside of said tape switch. A layer of pressure sensitive adhesive is applied to the underside of the deformable material layer. A removable strip of paper adheres to the underside of the pressure sensitive adhesive. It is notched to permit coiling.

Abstract: Rotary magnetic file including a base having a bottom and two sides. A shaft is mounted between said sides and a magnet is rotatably mounted on the shaft. A pair of magnetic members are mounted on said shaft at each side of said magnet. A pair of spacer members are mounted on said shaft on the outside of each magnetic members, the average diameter of the magnetic members being equal and less than the diameter of the spacer members. The edge of the spacer members adjacent to the magnetic members is gradually decreased to the dimension of the magnetic members. Index cards with clips of magnetic material may be mounted on said magnet and or magnetic members, the clips being formed to fit between the spacers in a self-centering manner.

Abstract: Safety bar for a fire truck of the type having an open space behind the cab for carrying firemen. A bar is mounted to protect men from falling out from the space. The bar extends across the space and has movement up and in with respect to the truck. Stops restrain the bar from movement down or out with respect to the truck.

Abstract: One piece child resistant cap for containers. A container has a neck with a thread on its external surface. A first group of teeth is arranged in a line on said neck below the lower end of said thread. A second group of teeth is arranged in a line on said neck opposite said first group of teeth. A cap of flexible material having a cap thread engages the container thread. A third group of teeth on the inside of the lower portion of the cap is spaced below the cap threads. A fourth group of threads on the inside of the lower portion of the cap is located opposite the third group of teeth. Whereby when the cap is screwed on to the container, the cap teeth will engage the container teeth so that the cap cannot be unscrewed in conventional manner and so that the cap must be squeezed to release the engagement of the cap teeth and the container teeth.

Abstract: Blood identification means. A holder bag is adapted to hold a bag of blood. A coded lock is mounted in the holder bag, the lock being coded for a particular patient. A wrist band attached to the patient provides the code for the lock.

Abstract: A low reflection coating for windows. A coating of silicone rubber is applied on one surface of the window and preferably also on the other surface. Each coating preferably has a thickness of several wavelengths of light and has a minimum thickness of two microns. The coating is low cost and is suitable for large areas, for instance solar heat collectors. Reflectivity is reduced by approximately one-third. The coating has no relation to a quarter wavelength or any multiple thereof of incident light.

Abstract: Automatic scan flow meter means for systems of the type supplying a plurality of lines. A plurality of flow meters are each connected to a line and to a control panel. Display means are mounted on the control panel. Scanning circuit means are connected to scan the flow meters and sequentially display the flows from the flow meters.
