Patent number: 5239284Abstract: An antitheft device of the type having a body unit to be attached to an article displayed in a shop for protecting the article against shoplifting. The device includes a transmitter for radiating an AC signal to a particular area, and the body unit which is adapted to receive a signal from the transmitter. The body unit comprises an alarm generator, and a receiving circuit operative to actuate the alarm generator in response to the signal from the transmitter. The transmitter radiates a feeble electromagnetic wave of less than 30 kHz corresponding to the sound range. The fact that the frequency of output from the transmitter is of a low frequency level corresponding to the sound range provides a greater allowance in the receiver for fluctuations in the frequency of signals received and thus good operation stability of the receiver. False alarming due to extraneous radiation is very unlikely to occur, and other components are free from the possibility of malfunctioning.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1991Date of Patent: August 24, 1993Assignee: Kubota CorporationInventors: Iwao Hara, Junji Higaki, Kohei Miyata, Hiroshi Matsushima

Patent number: 5205145Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing magnetostriction type torque sensor shafts adapted to detect a change in permeability when a torque is applied. A plurality of shot peening operations are applied to the surface of a torque sensor shaft in such a manner that the diameter of shot particles to be used is decreased each time. This arrangement ensures that the region in which the residual stress is at a maximum and approximately constant lies over a wide range as seen in the direction of the depth from the outermost surface of the shaft and extends from a deep area to an area close to the surface of the shaft. As a result, the hysteresis and nonlinearity of the shaft are improved and it becomes possible to use a wide range of excitation frequencies.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1992Date of Patent: April 27, 1993Assignee: Kubota CorporationInventors: Renshiro Ishino, Yoshio Shibata

Patent number: 5205321Abstract: A two-way, inline, hydraulic valve through which fluid can flow in reverse and in forward directions has a reverse flow passage including a check valve preventing forward direction fluid flow therethrough. Forward direction fluid flow is controlled by a movable, spring-biased, normally closed, spool valve having one end exposed to forward direction fluid pressure and an opposite end forming a piston acting in a cylindrical cavity containing a volume of fluid. Movement of the spool valve to open position in response to forward direction fluid pressure sufficient to overcome the spring bias causes the volume of fluid to be forced from the cavity through a restricted passage, thereby providing a time delay in the opening of the two-way valve for forward direction fluid flow. In an alternative embodiment, a sleeve valve mounted on the spool valve provides a by-pass permitting forward direction fluid flow under abnormally low forward direction fluid pressure.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1991Date of Patent: April 27, 1993Assignee: M.
