    Abstract: A method of producing a vehicle interior panel having a hollow double-walled structure made of thermoplastic comprising, blow molding with a pair of mold halves including a first mold with a shape transfer surface having a three dimensional pattern, and a second mold, clamping a cover material being formed by at least a double-layer structure arranged between a cavity of said first mold and a parison of thermoplastic such that a resin sheet layer without a through hole and without a three dimensional pattern faces a cavity of said first mold, introducing a pressurized fluid into the parison to press the cover material and the parison against a cavity surface, thereby integrally laminating said cover material to an outer surface of a first wall of the panel having the hollow double-walled structure and transferring said three dimensional pattern of said first mold half to said resin sheet.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to methods and apparatus for infrared imagers including fast electrostatic shutters and offset compensation. Fast electrostatic shutters are used for video image correction including image offset compensation where temporal noise and scene nonuniformity are corrected. This method provides a shutterless experience for the user because the image will be blocked for only one frame at a time. A method of manufacturing an electrostatic infrared shutter includes a conductive infrared-transparent substrate, covering it with an insulating layer, depositing adhesive and a thin film stack, delineating a working area, providing contacts, heat-treating the assembly, and making the polymer non-reflective in the infrared.

    Abstract: A hair treatment foil includes a first hook fastener anchoring strip aligned with and proximal to a leading edge of the foil, and a second hook fastener anchoring strip offset from the first strip, the hooks of the second anchoring strip being taller and less dense than the hooks of the first anchoring strip. In embodiments, the hooks of the first anchor strip are offset or randomly placed, and/or the hooks of the second anchor strip are aligned or arranged in a mechanical weave pattern. A push flap is included for urging the foil forward after attachment. The leading edge may be pinked for picking and placing hair on the foil. Shoulders wider than the leading edge may be included. Embodiments include a retaining appliance having a base plate with a hooked fastener anchor strip attached to its underside and a pinked edge for picking of hair from underneath.

    Abstract: An assembly useful for constructing concealable, flexible, lightweight protective body armor includes a flexible support layer to which is bonded a mosaic of rigid, adjacent tiles having a high bending performance, such as type 5 titanium alloy, which includes 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium by weight. The inner support layer can include woven para-aramid and/or STF-treated Kevlar™. The tiles can have interlocking and/or thickened edges. An additional backing layer can include para-aramid and/or carbon nanofiber embedded UHMWPE UD-laminate. An inner layer can have high moisture transport, anti-microbial properties, and low friction. An outer layer can be shaped with anatomical features to hide the armor. The assembly can be flame resistant. Assemblies with 2 mm thick tiles and total thickness less than 5 mm can provide V50 protection against 9 mm FMJ projectiles at more than 1000 feet/second, and can also protect against knife and spike assaults at 65 Joules force.

The control circuit controls the motor based on a signal from the sensor, or other control means, such that the motor can actuate valve operation.

In the latter case, the internal battery can be maintained in a charged state by means of circuitry which, when the charger is plugged into the external power source, charges the internal battery as well as the battery of the electronic device. The external power source can be either an AC power wall socket, in which case the charger includes AC/DC voltage conversion circuits, or a car lighter socket, or the DC output of a conventional wall charger.

    Abstract: A quick-connect sanitary fluid connector system provides for connection of a sanitary fluid system to an industry standard, flanged sanitary fitting. The standard fitting is placed in abutting relation to a sanitary gasket and to a first fitting of the quick connector, and at least two eccentric cams operated by cam levers press against the back surface of the standard connector flange, thereby applying pressure to the juncture and forming an abutted sanitary seal which avoids fluid entrapment within the connector. The joining pressure can adjustable by threaded rotation of the first fitting within a connector body. The cam levers can include locking holes and pins for locking the levers in their locking positions. Insertion of the standard fitting can automatically open the cams, and springs can automatically return the cam levers to their locking positions. Spring retracted telescoping cam levers can be automatically latched in their locking positions.
