Abstract: A curved surface structure for reflecting solar light, heat or electromagnetic radiation is made by scoring two opposing pairs of curved bend lines along one pair of opposing edges of a sheet of bendable material, dividing it into a center section joined by curved bend lines to curved ribs, joined by curved bend lines to respective curved edges; bending the curved ribs down and curved edges up along the bend lines to nominally right angles to form a curved surface supported by two curved ribs and two curved edges. Two straight ribs and respective straight edges may be scored and formed on the other pair of opposing edges of the sheet. A backside sheet may be applied to the four edges. A widthwise corrugated, elongate right angle reinforcement member may be employed for strengthening the formed bend lines.
Abstract: In one embodiment of the invention, a location system is provided using both RF and IR signals for the determination of an object. Another embodiment of the invention provides a direct network connection for a receiver. The direct connection may be provided for connection to an Ethernet network, a telephone network, a cable TV network, a UTP network, a Universal Serial Bus (USB), a medical telemetry network or the Internet. A web server is optionally provided according to an embodiment of the invention. According to a further embodiment, a fixed location identifier is provided to receive signals from a transmitter and then transmit a signal to a receiver, which may be connected to a network. According to a further embodiment, two identifiers may be transmitted, one identifier corresponding to an object, while a second identifier identifies a group designator of the object.
Abstract: Improved instruction set and core design, control and communication for programmable microprocessors is disclosed, involving the strategy for replacing centralized program sequencing in present-day and prior art processors with a novel distributed program sequencing wherein each functional unit has its own instruction fetch and decode block, and each functional unit has its own local memory for program storage; and wherein computational hardware execution units and memory units are flexibly pipelined as programmable embedded processors with reconfigurable pipeline stages of different order in response to varying application instruction sequences that establish different configurations and switching interconnections of the hardware units.

Abstract: A device (10) to dispense fluid products into a container (12) provided with a closing portion (13) comprises delivery means (11) to deliver the fluid products into the container (12). The delivery means (11) comprises at least a tubular element (14) having a perforation end (34), by means of which the tubular element (14) perforates the closing portion (13) in order to make a delivery hole (16) in the closing portion (13) and is inserted, at least partly, into the container (12) in order to dispense at least one of the fluid products.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hand gun with a tensioning lever (cocking lever), connected with the lock, with a handle for cocking the weapon, for which at least two alternative fastening positions are provided for the handle for actuating the tensioning lever. The relative position of the handle for actuating the tensioning lever is changeable on the weapon, so that one can engage for cocking in various positions on either the right hand or left hand side, so that the tensioning lever can be adjusted to fit and be operated by a right-handed or a left-handed person.
Abstract: A plastic cutlery item molded from a plastic material, such as polystyrene, having a metallic coating that imparts to this cutlery item the appearance of metal cutlery or silverware. In one embodiment the plastic cutlery or tableware items are molded using injection molding techniques, and subjected to a vacuum metallizing process in an individualized non-contiguous manner, where a thin metallic layer is deposited on at least one of their surfaces. The resultant items simulate the appearance of metal cutlery or tableware. In one embodiment of the invention the plastic cutlery or tableware articles are molded from a clear polystyrene resin and are coated with a thin stainless steel layer through vacuum sputtering deposition on only one of the sides. The abrasion resistance of the metallic coating can be enhanced by subjecting the articles to a post-metallizing holding period or by applying a clear protective overcoat.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for lifting at least one wheel (3, 57) of a rail-bound vehicle, which wheel bears on a rail (5, 71) in a contact point (7, 73). The device comprises a first (9, 59, 63) and a second lifting member (11, 61, 65) adapted to be positioned on each side of the contact point of the wheel, wherein at least the first lifting member comprises a force transfer element (23, 49) comprising an oblique force transfer surface (25a, 25b).
Abstract: A method is disclosed to detect a broad class of signals in Gaussian noise using higher order statistics. The method detects a number of different signal types. The signals may be in the base-band or the pass-band, single-carrier or multi-carrier, frequency hopping or non-hopping, broad-pulse or narrow-pulse etc. In a typical setting this method provides an error rate of 3% at a signal to noise ratio of 0 dB. This method gives the time frequency detection ratio which may be used to determine if the detected signal falls in Class Single-Carrier of Class Multi-Carrier. Additionally, this method may be used for a number of different applications such as multiple signal identification, finding the basis functions of the received signal.

Abstract: A method of operation within a device coupled to a network. A first set of data is received from the network. A first set of measurement information, for use in determining a quality of the network, is then identified from the first set of data. A second set of measurement information is generated based on the first set of measurement information. The second set of measurement information and a second set of data are transmitted via the network, concurrently.
