  • Patent number: 5190071
Abstract: A pinch valve assembly includes a valve body in which a plunger is spring loaded against a portion of a flexible tube which passes through the valve body. The plunger causes the flexible tube to collapse preventing flow through the tube. Energization of a solenoid which is mounted on the valve body causes the plunger to release the tube, permitting flow. In an alternative embodiment, energization of the solenoid causes the plunger to bear on the flexible tube thereby providing a normally open valve arrangement. In another alternative embodiment the plunger bears on a plurality of flexible tubes thereby facilitating simultaneous control of different fluids. In still another alternative embodiment the plunger is mounted in roller bearings and the top of the plunger bears on an electrical switch contact which provides an electrical verification of the open or closed state of the pinch valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 5178122
Abstract: An adjustable cable guard mount which includes a pair of mounting means the first of which is inserted in or formed on an archery bow proximate the handle and having a symmetrical, multi-faced splined first mating portion. The second mounting means carries a deflector rod and includes a second mating portion formed to mate with the first mating portion. The first and second mounting means are held in their coupled relationship by a retaining means. By permitting the coupling of the first and second mounting means in a plurality of orientations the degree of tension cable and bowstring separation can be selectively adjusted.

  • Patent number: 5141689
Abstract: An improved archery bow limb fabricated by inserting a moldable slug having a plurality of longitudinally oriented resin impregnated fiber glass filaments into a bow limb profiling compression mold. The mold includes a female cavity mold and a male mold. The female mold having a raised portion defining a limb tip slot impression area so that when the mold is closed a depressed tip slot is formed in the slug. The raised portion may include peripherally thereabout, reinforcing filaments for strengthening the slot edge defined by said periphery. After the slug has been cured, the material remaining in the base of the depression is removed thereby providing a bow limb having a pair of forks for supporting an eccentric therebetweren. The resulting bow limb being fabricated with a reduced amount of severed longitudinal filaments.

  • Patent number: 5099819
Abstract: An improved compound bow having a rigid lightweight, high strength central portion which connects the opposed inner ends of the bow limbs and includes spaced apart, centrally offset tubular risers. The riser offsetting provides a sight window which extends over the entire space intermediate the limbs. The tubular risers are preferably made of lightweight extruded material to impart strength while maintaining reduced weight and fabrication costs. The riser is affixed to the bow limbs through limb boots and the riser may carry a laterally extending suppport platform. The platform is constructed to rigidly support either a right or left handed grip, a draw cable guard and if desired an arrow rest and a target sight. The components may be of modular construction to permit the compound bow to be readily assembled into a length suitable for a right or left handed individual archer.
