Abstract: Polyalkenamers are produced by a ring-opening polymerization of cyclic olefins employing a catalyst system comprising (1) a tungsten or molybdenum compound; (2) an organoaluminum compound; (3) a vinylic chloride, bromide or iodide; and, optionally, (4) a compound containing a hydroxyl or sulfhydryl group; and conducting the polymerization in the presence of an ethylenically unsaturated halogenated hydrocarbon wherein one of the double bonded carbon atoms is substituted by chlorine, bromine or iodine or halogenated alkyl or aryl and at least one hydrogen atom.
Abstract: A SO.sub.2 containing gas, for example a stack gas, is purified according to a multi-step process, which comprises washing said gas with an aqueous ammonia solution, treating the resulting solution with hydrochloric acid, whereby SO.sub.2 and an aqueous ammonium chloride solution are obtained and separated. The ammonium chloride solution is then reacted with magnesium oxide to recovery ammonia and the resulting magnesium chloride is cracked to produce hydrochloric acid and magnesium oxide, the ammonia, hydrochloric acid and magnesium oxide being recycled to the process.

Abstract: Process for the at least partial liquefaction of a low-boiling gaseous mixture, which is under pressure, wherein the gaseous mixture is precooled in heat exchange with a vaporizing refrigerant, purified during the course of the precooling step, and, after the precooling step, is subjected to a preliminary separation, characterized in that the at least partial liquefaction of the gaseous fraction obtained during the preliminary separation is carried out in heat exchange with a vaporizing multicomponent gas, the partial liquefaction of which takes place by precooling, and the completed liquefaction and subcooling of which takes place in one stage against itself.

Abstract: The ditcher is provided with two engines. The first engine powers the hydraulic system which rotates the digging wheel. The second engine powers the hydraulic system which actuates the wheel lifting cylinders, the conveyor system and the track driving means. The two hydraulic systems are selectively interconnected so that, in the event that the second engine fails, the first engine can be used to actuate the wheel lifting cylinders and track driving means. As a result, the ditcher's wheel can be lifted to the travelling position and the tracks driven to move the ditcher off the pipe line right-of-way and enable it to return to a base camp for repairs.
