Abstract: A bound system including a plurality of pages and a cover/divider including a bound outer edge and a plurality of free outer edges. The cover/divider is bound to the plurality of pages along the bound edge. The cover/divider includes one or more discrete tabs extending generally outwardly relative to one of the free edges. Each tab is integrally formed from a single piece of material with the rest of the cover/divider. Each tab further has an opening formed therethrough and is configured to receive at least part of a binding device therethrough to thereby couple the cover/divider to the binding device.

Abstract: A sheet assembly including a sheet and sequential instruction indicia on the sheet. The sequential instruction indicia includes discrete ordered steps that cue a user in proper writing strokes to write an associated letter or number. The sheet assembly further includes narrative indicia on the sheet having discrete portions that correspond to the discrete ordered steps of the sequential instruction indicia.

Abstract: A retractable writing surface system including a binding mechanism and a pocket directly bound to the binding mechanism, the pocket having an inner cavity. The system further includes a polymer writing surface at least partially received in the pocket. The writing surface is movable between an extended position wherein at least part of the writing surface is exposed for writing upon by a writing instrument, and a retracted position wherein less of the writing surface is exposed for writing upon by the writing instrument compared to when the writing surface is in the extended position. At least part of the writing surface is located in the cavity when the writing surface is in the retracted position.

Abstract: Taught herein is a package for holding and securing various types of portable items. An inner slide card with integral tray (12) is loaded with items, and inserted into an outer sleeve (200). Receiving apertures (38) and securing tabs (40) hold and secure the items in the tray. An engaging element (42), integral to the slide card or tray cooperatively engages locking elements and stopping elements (240, 216) integral to the outer sleeve. The cooperative engagement of the elements provides an optional child-resistant feature and an optional spill-resistant feature. A release button (224) integral to the outer sleeve disengages the child-resistant feature.

Abstract: A device for opening pre-glued, pre-folded sleeves into cartons. The device includes a cam wheel (20) to which are connected one or more suction arms (22). The cam wheel can be controlled to rotated at different angular velocities. A first angular velocity allows sleeves comprising a certain number of panels to be opened, and a second angular velocity allows sleeves of a different number of panels to be opened.

Abstract: A lockable container includes a lockable case and an insert. The insert can be stored in the lockable case. The lockable case and the insert can each have one or more engaging elements and receiving elements, with reciprocal elements for engaging or receiving being included in the case or insert. The engaging elements, the receiving elements, or both, can be made removable to provide selective removal of the locking feature of the lockable container. For example, the engaging elements can be a removable post that can be selectively removed from the lockable case.

Abstract: An insert package includes an insert and a container. The container is formed by assembling an upper housing member and a lower housing member, thereby creating a void bound by side walls and a closed end. The container includes rails or channels, and an open end with an engageable cover. When the cover is open, the open end provides access to the void. An insert can be passed into container through the open end. The insert is a package for storing and dispensing items, such as a blister card. The insert includes wings and the wings can include lugs or detents. The wings are designed to interface with the rails, to align the insert with the container during storage and dispensing of the items. A retainer in the container, and a retainer receiver on the insert (or vice versa) can selectively immobilize the insert. A release can disengage the insert and allow slideable movement of the insert into and out of the container.

Abstract: A loading apparatus for loading blister cards into sleeves includes a blister card magazine for receiving a stack of blister cards and a sleeve magazine for receiving a stack of sleeves. A loading conveyor moves a lug along a path to load a blister card into a sleeve. A gate releasably retains the sleeve in a loading position as the blister card is loaded into the sleeve. The loading apparatus also includes a hopper that facilitates loading sleeves into the sleeve magazine and sensors that ensure the blister cards are properly loaded into sleeves.

Abstract: The present invention provides an assembly of bellows part and a part against which unrolling takes place (the unrolling part), comprising a bellows part with a flexible wall of a predetermined shape and thickness variation which co-operates with an unrolling part with a stiff outer wall along which the flexible wall is movable, wherein the unrolling part has a predetermined diameter variation and/or the flexible wall has a predetermined thickness variation so as to cause a desired development of force.

Abstract: This invention relates to bituminous compositions and methods of producing the same. More particularly, the invention relates to the production of bituminous compositions formulated with performance-graded bitumen-containing solvent-free bitumen emulsions which exhibit controllable, temperature-dependent interfacial rheology. When employed in paving applications, these bituminous compositions develop adhesive strength and load-bearing strength properties at rates comparable to traditional hot mix paving compositions and at rates faster than traditional cold mix paving compositions.

Abstract: A noncontainer pressurizing pump sprayer includes a body, which defines a chamber. A piston is positioned within the container and is coupled to a shaft. The piston divides the chamber into an upper section and a lower section. An inlet valve is positioned on the body and permits flow of fluid into the lower section but restricts flow out of the lower section. The shaft of the piston is coupled to a handle. A spray nozzle includes an actuator that is coupled to a control valve and a discharge outlet that is in fluid communication with the lower section of the chamber. In one embodiment, a tube extends continuously from a point upstream of the control valve to a point downstream of the control valve. In another embodiment, a tube is coupled to the piston and extends through the handle. In another embodiment, the tube extends continuously from the spray nozzle and is coupled to the piston.

Abstract: A trigger sprayer has a nozzle assembly that dispenses a spray of liquid in a fan pattern that is selectively oriented horizontally or vertically. The nozzle assembly includes a nozzle housing and nozzle cap mounted on the nozzle housing, where the nozzle cap is rotatable relative to the nozzle housing to direct a fan spray pattern of liquid from the nozzle cap in both a vertical and horizontal orientation, and prevent the discharge of liquid from the nozzle cap in cap positions between the horizontal and vertical orientations.

Abstract: A carton, having reinforced handle openings which define handles, includes a tubular structure that is formed from multiple walls. An edge flap connects two of the walls. The carton also includes end closures at each open end of the tubular structure. The end closures each include end flaps that have features that define the handles. The end closures also include edge flap reinforcing panels that are hingedly connected to the edge flap and further define the handle. Specifically, a reinforcing edge of the edge flap reinforcing panel is disposed in reinforcing proximity to a handle opening so as to reinforce at least a weight bearing edge of the handle opening to define a handle with a multi-ply thick weight bearing edge.

Abstract: A trigger sprayer is provided with a passive venting system of simplified and inexpensive construction. A gas permeable, liquid impermeable membrane is positioned over a vent opening in the trigger sprayer housing and prevents the leakage of liquid from a container attached to the trigger sprayer, while allowing the venting of air from the exterior of the trigger sprayer to the container interior. The membrane is secured to a vent opening surface of the sprayer housing that is surrounded by a vent side wall that protects the vent membrane.

Abstract: A reinforced handle is provided in an end wall closure of a substantially tubular carton by forming a handle opening in a top end flap, and by aligning the handle opening with corresponding cutouts formed in respective side end flaps. Each cutout is provided with reinforcing flaps that align with at least the weight bearing edge of the handle opening. Each reinforcing flap is formed from the respective side end flap and folded out of the plane of the respective side end flap to be in face contacting relationship with that side end flap. Each reinforcing flap aligns its edge with the weight bearing edge of the handle opening. In this manner, the material at the weight bearing edge of the handle opening is at least three plies thick.

Abstract: A sprayer includes a discharge valve assembly and includes an integrated poppet valve, spring and volume reducer. The spring includes more than omega-shaped form, each with relatively flat sides. The spring can have sides with portions sufficiently wide to substantially extend across the valve chamber to provide stability to the spring and prevent buckling. The flat sided omega-form construct is relatively easy to manufacture via molding and the ends of such construction provide suitable locations for integrated molding with the valve and the volume reducer.
