  • Patent number: 8270998
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a location based on historical data are disclosed. Generally, a location determination component receives a request for information from a wireless device, where the request is associated with at least two network access points (NAPs). The location determination component determines which of the at least two NAPs has a greater precedence and estimates a current location of the wireless device based on a known location of the current NAP and a known location of a previously-current NAP associated with the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 8255929
Abstract: A system and method for providing time-sensitive information to a handset using a scrolling ticker. The method includes receiving the time-sensitive information at a server, determining the time period before the next update for a second set of information, and if less than a pre-determined value, then streaming the time sensitive information at the end of the time period to the handset. If the time period is greater that than the pre-determined value, then streaming the time-sensitive information immediately. In an alternative embodiment, a method is provided which includes determining a base schedule for periodically streaming the information to a handset via a scrolling ticker, receiving time-sensitive information relating to an event, determining a second schedule for periodically streaming time-sensitive information related to the event, and streaming the time-sensitive information in accordance with the second schedule during a time period associated with the event.

  • Patent number: 8254971
Abstract: A system and method for determining an SMS retransmission schedule is provided. When a special error code is received by an SMSC, the SMSC can calculate the response time. The response time is the time that lapsed between forwarding the SMS message for delivery and receiving an error code. If the response time exceeds a response time threshold, the error code can be considered as falsely generated. A special retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message. If the response time does not exceed a response time threshold, a different retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message.

  • Patent number: 8246967
Abstract: Compositions and methods for modifying one or more biologic targets are provided. Suitable targets include cells, DNA, proteins, enzymes, and/or a subject in need thereof. The compositions may exist as a monomer or multimer and are active in a biologic environment with enhanced activity in hypoxic environments and, thus, exhibit improved specificity for hypoxic biologic targets (e.g., tumorigenic cells and those undergoing uncontrolled cell growth). A composition typically comprises a complex with an overall charge of 2+ or greater having at least one ruthenium atom attached to a redox active ligand. The redox active ligand helps maintain separation of more than one ruthenium atom. Suitable compositions may further include a terminal ligand comprising a heterocyclic aromatic compound. When provided to a biologic target, the composition modifies the biologic target and no additional compounds need be provided. Suitable compositions are typically catalytic and regenerative in the presence of a reducing agent.

  • Patent number: 8230278
Abstract: A test system having a sub-system to sub-system bridge may be provided that utilizes the useful attributes of a plurality of circuit testing techniques, while reducing deficiencies associated with certain types of circuit testing. A bridged test system structure is utilized to facilitate circuit testing that is more effective and time efficient. The method analyzes performance data acquired by a first component for one or more circuits, and sends that performance data to a second test component. The second test component provides test signals to the circuits, using the performance date to enhance the use of the test signals, and also provides test response data for the circuits in response to the provided test signals.
