Abstract: A mounting system for a flat panel display includes a wall interface assembly, a pair of arm assemblies, and a mounting assembly. The wall interface assembly can include a slide plate connected to arm assemblies which enable the arm assemblies and mount assembly to be horizontally shifted without the need to remove the mount from the wall and reattach it. The arm assemblies may be substantially hollow arms having removable covers for storing wires connected to display therein. The mounting assembly can also include a pair of brace arms each having two generally D-shaped members placed back-to-back and slidable relative to each other to enable the mount assembly to be expanded to mount various sized displays without extending beyond the width of the display.

Abstract: A closure device to be inserted at least partially through a blood vessel wall aperture in a blood vessel wall. The closure device includes at least two parts, an internal part and an external part. The internal part is adapted to be extended at least partially through the blood vessel wall aperture and into the lumen to at least partially block the blood vessel wall aperture. Each of the internal part and the external part consists essentially of a metal that biodegrades within a living being in a period of time that permits biological repair of the blood vessel wall in and around the blood vessel aperture.
Abstract: Novel appliances for the application, distribution, manipulation and/or removal of different types of media, including art and craft media, may be removably attached to conventional and commonly-available tools, such as palette/painting knives, brushes with hair/filament tips, and other media manipulators such as those having a polymeric contacting surface on their working end. The appliances are adapted for superimposition over the media-engaging working-head formations of the tools, and have media-engaging characteristics which differ from the native media-engaging characteristics of the working-head formations of the tools. Tools to which such appliances are attached in accordance with the invention are also disclosed.
Abstract: A packet transmission system, a packet transmission method, a packet update method, a host apparatus, and a computer program product thereof for the packet transmission system are provided. The packet transmission method comprises the following steps: transmitting a first positioning packet that has a first message serial number; receiving the first positioning packet; generating a temporary packet that has a second message serial number; determining that the first message serial number is smaller than the second message serial number; transmitting the temporary packet; receiving the temporary packet and updating the first message serial as the second message serial number; and transmitting a second positioning packet that has the second message serial number. Thereby, the system not only prevents repeat transmission, but also enhances positioning reliability by using two-way transmission.
Abstract: A locking device that locks a power feeding plug to a power receiving connector, one of the power feeding plug and the power receiving connector including a hook, the other one of the power feeding plug and the power receiving connector including a catch, the locking device including a lock bar that is moved between a first lock position, at which it holds the hook on the catch and a first unlock position, at which it permits the hook to move away from the catch. A wire is moved between a second lock position, at which it is engaged with the lock bar and restricts movement of the lock bar to the first unlock position, and a second unlock position, at which it is disengaged from the lock bar and permits movement of the lock bar to the first unlock position. A motor is arranged at a position separated from the power receiving connector. A cam transmits the driving force of the motor to the wire.
Abstract: A light integration aparatus for use in a projection device is provided. The light integration apparatus comprises the first integration rod and the second integration rod symmetrically disposed with respect to a symmetric axis. The light emerging ends of the first integration rod and the second integration rod are both disposed towards the symmetric axis. Thus, the light is adapted to be guided through the first integration rod and the second integration rod, and emerge from the light emerging ends to travel parallel to the symmetric axis.
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for modifying a structure such as a medical device through the selective application of a coating. A coating sleeve may comprise an elastomeric wall that may be permeable or impermeable to a coating material and may be porous so as to allow for patterned coating of the device. The coating sleeve may contain surface protrusions that facilitate manipulation by providing sites for grasping and pulling. In operation the coating sleeve may be fitted on the device prior to application of a coating and removed subsequent to application of the coating.

Abstract: A method of configuring a programmable pump for delivering an agent to a patient. The method comprises generating a user interface having a plurality of pages, at least one of the pages being a home page; retrieving at least one banner from memory; and displaying the retrieved at least one banner in the home page.
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for protection of products and packaging against counterfeiting using dedicated authentication protocol coupled with portable devices. It is based on the product identification information, i.e., PIN, generated by the product manufacturer, stored in the product database and added to product or packaging in an open and/or a hidden form. The open part is directly available to the consumer before buying, opening or consuming the product or package or damaging its integrity while the hidden part is only revealed after these operations. The hidden information can also be disappearing after a predefined interval of time or number of trials or usages. Both parts are communicated to the authentication server in a predefined order to verify the product or package authenticity. The presence, absence, or multiple requests for the same product PIN, confirm or reject product authenticity or detect attempt at attacking the system or at using counterfeited products.

Abstract: A high definition thin lens dimensional image display device and methods of manufacturing the same. The thin lens dimensional image display device generally includes a lens array on a first surface of a film, such as a lenticular lens array or a fly's eye lens array, with a printed imaged either printed directly on a second planar surface of the film, or on a separate substrate that is laminated thereto. The resulting display device offers a lower cost display device having greater flexibility for a wider variety of applications than traditional image display devices, without compromising image quality. Processes for manufacturing the display device include printing on a pre-fabricated thin lens web, inline printing of an image and patterning of the lens array, and inline printing of a substrate and application of a coating to the substrate which is subsequently patterned or embossed.

Abstract: Fluid transfer device may be configured as a vacuum pump, including blood and blood constituents. Fluid transfer device used for assisting in the pumping of blood through a patient's heart for reducing the load on the patient's heart, sheer forces and blood pressure on the inner walls of the heart are reduced. Pump may be used as an implanted cardiac assist device, such as an aortic assist device, a ventricular assist device, or as a complete artificial heart. By use of a vacuum, the inventive fluid transfer device may be operated at no more than atmospheric pressure. A pre-charged pressure tank may be used dependent on the application requirements, such as in the case where fluid pressure of the pumped fluid, including the backpressure of body fluids, in the case where pressure greater than atmospheric to sufficiently expel pumped fluid.
