  • Patent number: 4825331
Abstract: A unit including a conveyor belt for carrying the tapes to be degaussed, wound on reels, past degaussing coils. The coils are arranged respectively below and above the path of the tapes, spaced along the path of the tapes, and oriented with the magnetic fields positioned at 90.degree. angle to each other and both at 45.degree. angle to the direction of movement of the conveyor. Booster coils are provided for selectively applying lesser and greater voltages to the degaussing coils. Cooling fans direct cooling air against the degaussing coils, and in both of opposite directions on each coil. Safety features include interruption of the operation upon excessive heat of the degaussing coils, too great or too little current to the coils, or too great or too low voltage applied from the main source.

  • Patent number: 4813969
Abstract: The invention deals with a process for production of synthetic hairs for use in wigs, hair pieces, etc. While the natural appearance of synthetic hair is retained, the synthetic hair has a high thermal resistance. In the process, individual hair is given a diffuse light refraction by altering its structure surface, by means of chemically disturbing the surface. The process is so conducted that the surface of a single filament polyester fiber is disturbed by means of a corrosive alkaline lye, in which the solution of about 20 g/l of natrium hydroxide works into the fiber at a temperature of 96.degree.C.-100.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4805804
Abstract: A water container has an inlet water line and an outlet water line, each with a one-way check valve therein. An electric heater element heats the water, controlled by a thermo switch that senses the temperature of the water. The switch is set to turn on at a low temperature of the water and turn off at a high temperature thereof. Upon heating and expanding of the water, it is forced out through the outlet water line to the cut plants, and upon cooling and contraction of the water, replenishment water is drawn in through the inlet water line.
